I think it's as real as reality tv gets. I'm fascinated by this show. It's a guilty pleasure. I grew up with a Grandfather that told me if I played outside alone the gypsies would take me. It was a running theme with my cousins and I for years. It fascinates me to no end knowing these people do exist. I was terrified of them when I was little.

They usually get married at around 16 in the US version. That dressmaker in Boston has to be making a fortune. They don't even kiss before marriageif they are true Gypsies. The crystal industry is being kept alive by these people alone. 30k crystals on a 75 pound gown. I can't imagine how you clean and preserve that.
I'm glad someone brought this up because I am so confused about gypsies and their culture. What makes them gypsies? Is it just that they move around and have/live in mobile homes? I only watched the first American version show and snippets of the Euro version. I was shocked that they were in the US. I don't understand this culture and what makes them gypsies at all...
