Anyone have these? Or even seen them in person. I love the look of stainless, but after seeing what a toddler can do to them, I'm pretty much done. The slate ones are darker and are supposed to show less finger prints. I just having a hard time finding them in person.
I haven't seen them in person but I'm curious as well. I think GE might be the only one doing them at this point and I don't want all GE, so I think that would preclude me from actually going with them, but it'll be interesting to see if other manufacturers pick it up.

I thought that this Wall Street Journal article on the subject was interesting.
Have you ruled out the various "clean steel" options? We've had fridges in 2 different houses that were essentially SS look plastic. If I remember correctly, magnets didn't stick to the fronts, but did to the sides, which were usual fridge material. Frigidaire and Samsung. Your eye doesn't register it at all, unless you're one of those Sub Zero or bust people.
I found them! A local Home Depot actually had them in stock. I liked the look a lot. They definitely won't show finger prints. I'm going to do colored cabinets, so I think it'll be a good look.
Ill be replacing all of the appliances and get a big GE discount, so I think I'm sold.
They look similar to SS online but I'd love to see them in person. I am so over SS. I went with white for the few appliances we've replaced in this house. I like the glass white ones.
Once, but my buyer was selling her house fsbo, then we were waiting on her buyer's buyer. This was in 2005 and the seller's agent was dumb enough not to counter that my buyer's house be listed with a licensed agent for the duration of the contingency.
It was a nightmare. Hopefully at least all parties involved in yours have an agent, lol.

I like the idea. My ideal appliance color is probably black, but it seems a little dark. So slate seems about perfect.
As long as one appliance doesn't break, and they no longer makes them, and now they don't match. That would bug me.
I have had SS in two houses now, and the kids definitely mark them up with finger prints, food smears, etc. I think I have just become immune to the mess, lol. People without kids are probably horrified though.

Bwahahahaha! Our buyer is selling his house fsbo. At least he has an agent here. While we've been under contract we've been marketing our home as "active" and he's had his buyer the whole time, but I'm still your moron seller. Thank goodness our buyer's buyer has an agent. There might be hope.

Dude, I knew there was something off about our frigidaire. I'm 90% sure this is what we have based on your description. The sides and handles are black and we can only have magnets on the sides, which is kind of a PITA because it is recessed into the wall.
We don't have any kids but it seriously doesn't get icky or fingerprinted too badly. I've only cleaned it maybe once every other month....
Actually with the Clean Steel you can have magnets on the front, that's what we had at our last house. We have a real SS fridge at this house and the magnets only stick to the sides. Honestly there's not a huge difference with fingerprints between the two, the Clean Steel still got fingerprints on it. The real SS is actually easier to get looking shiny when you do clean it.

Hopefully your buyer is smarter than the one above was. and you can keep your house active, which our MLS wouldn't allow at the time. Lol, I don't envy you - good luck!
I've seen them in person and they're ok, but I would be hesitant to buy them since they are only available through GE.
We have a Frigidaire Gallery Fridge in Stainless Steel and it barely gets any marks on it. There's some special coating they use and it's been pretty effective. I've also seen it on the gallery series stoves and dishwashers.
We have all GE profile now, which i think also has a coating, and while I can tell they're better about prints than the cheaper ones we had in a condo where we lived, but my dd can still wreck them.
