Yesterday we had our anatomy scan and found out the baby is a boy. MIL and FIL came over yesterday afternoon to help with some stuff around the house, and were looking at the pics from the ultrasound. first FIL was joking that the black space above the baby's head was his huge penis. FIL is generally clueless so that was not out of character. Then when they got to the actual picture showing the penis, MIL said "he already has a hard on". I kind of laughed it off at the time because I couldn't think of what to say, but I still feel gross about it today. Am I just being a hormonal, overprotective mama or is that really a weird and inappropriate thing to say? They are both really weird and I'm never quite sure how to react to some of the things that come out of their mouths...
Well I think it's weird to point out gemitals to others on an US in the first place....but yes her comments are gross and innapropriate.
Agreed. My H gave them the stack to look through, after they left I set that one aside and told him we weren't going to let anyone else see it.
I'm glad I'm not crazy for being grossed out, sometimes I'm not sure if my reactions to them are colored by how much they can annoy me in general - and I didn't want them there yesterday.
I'd blow it off, but yeah, inappropriate. But then, we just have certain members of the family (read: FIL) who say inappropriate or strange things on the regular: knowing him has given me ample opportunity to practice letting things not bother me, lol.
