How was your week? Anything exciting planned for the weekend?
My weeks is hectic! My boss sprung on me we need 5 renderings for 2 grant proposals. They are all super complicated models. I have 3 of 5 done.
I also had meetings for a side job. I had to pump for them which was fine, but then she didn't want to take the bottle. Ugh!
Anyway, this weekend I have to finish the renderings. Plus we are going to finish all the stuff we can for the bathroom. (Fix wall board, install door frame, paint/frost door). The tile looks awesome! I'm so excited. Drywallers come back Monday. I think we might even set the toilet tomorrow! I'm beyond pumped about that.
Friends are having a cookout at their creek house tomorrow, but I don't want to go. This week has been so hectic I just want to sit in the couch and snuggle with Mina. Poor thing has been living in her swing this week.
Today we have our 3D ultrasound with both grandmothers!
Unfortunately DH and I got into on the phone b/c I am super stressed about the furlough and he keeps saying "it will be ok" and "stress isn't good for the baby." Which is all fine and dandy except I'm the breadwinner, right now only DOD employees are being furloughed and sweetie, last time I checked 20% loss of salary b/c Congress can't play nice is a big chunk for us. Sorry ladies.
Then tomorrow my mom and I are going to a local quilt show to see about fabric for my crib skirt. No clue on Sunday, laundry and starting some freezer meals probably.
Tomorrow I have to take my car in for an oil change and tire rotation. Then tomorrow evening we're visiting friends about 45 min. away for dinner and drinks.
Sunday we have nothing concrete planned. Probably grocery store, cleaning, errands, etc. and maybe a movie if anything good is out that we have not yet seen.
I'm on a plane right now headed to New Orleans. Don't get too excited, it's all for work. Meetings tonight until about 10, tomorrow from 7 am to 6 pm, then dinner with a girlfriend, and a full day of travel home Sunday.

Oh that sucks.
I am off work again today, not because of the snow but because my sitter is sick. It's almost opening time at the office and I never heard back from my boss so I'm assuming he's pouting because he's alone in the office 2 days in a row. (I did offer to come in but said I had to bring both boys with me since I have no sitter -- I'm not taking my 2 children to be baby sat by someone who is puking!)
I think when H gets home, I'm going to force him to take me out and rid me of my cabin fever. He said it took 30 minutes to clean the ice off his car this morning, so I'm not doing anything until he's home since I can't leave the kids alone in the house for 30 minutes. So I guess I'll hang Baby W's curtain rod & curtains, do some sorting of my consignment sale stuff that is in 4 weeks and do some more cleaning today. We're supposed to go to the circus tomorrow and my family is supposed to come visit Sunday, but that's weather permitting.
We have our walk-through and "orientation" at the house this evening. I am giddy with excitement haha! This is our first home so I'm excited to learn about everything. Afterwards we are having dinner with some friends.
Tomorrow or sunday we will probably do a little browsing for appliances and window treatments. No other real plans.
Monday is my anatomy scan and I can't wait to see the baby and find out the sex. Next week will be the best week ever - we are scheduled to close on Thursday!!
This week was too hectic. Sick on Monday, presentation and new project for on class on Tuesday, prepping for office party on Wednesday, office party and class yesterday. Today I have to finish up work for another class, and tomorrow we meet. At tomorrow's meeting, we'll create a PowerPoint and presentation. The rest of this weekend will be spent working on two writing projects. I'm tired.

This week was pretty uneventful. I was sick earlier in the week and still haven't gotten my energy back. I ordered some new flatware.
We are finishing DD's room next weekend, so this weekend we are going through her toys to try to make room. I'm also going shopping for new everyday dinnerware. I also need to buy some seeds soon. Some of them need to be started inside in the beginning of March.
We have nothing planned. This was such a laid back/boring week. The kind of week that catapults me into a DIY project because I've had nothing to do. My son has Sports for 3 hours on Saturday and then a party on Sunday.
I might force myself to do my DIY Challenge just so I can post the banner before the end of the month. LOL
We are also heading to the auto show I think on Sunday. I am considering a new car and want to sit in a bunch to see. I thought I wanted a crossover (I drive a boat size impala). But now I'm thinking for same of price and gas mileage about considering an elantra (my last car!) and a corolla. I want to check out the subarus too.... Any suggestions for other cars?!
We have a Subaru Impreza WRX STI (totally not what you are looking for) that is T's car show car, he baby's that thing, it has a lot of motor work done, etc. Subarus are great, they are comfortable, last forever, etc. We had a friend get T-boned by a dump truck going 60mph in his STI, every single thing on his car was compromised except the passenger compartment. Both him and his passenger while suffering broken bones, concussions, and minor interior bleeding were fine and were home from the hospital the same week. I've seen these cars roll half a dozen times on rally days and the driver gets out on his own power.
I drive a Jeep Patriot on a daily basis, it replaced the Jeep Cherokee and is their crossover. I like it and it's been a great car. Has a TON of room in it, you wouldn't imagine that it was as roomy from the outside, and gets decent gas mileage.

Nothifng too exciting here. Tomorrow is my birthday (I am turning 54) and my husband has plans to get me out of the house, even tho I don't feel much like it. I am getting my hair cut tomorrow, it needs it so bad. On Sunday we are going to try and finish the new screens for our front porch (we built new ones from scratch and it took forever since I broke my ankle). And speaking of that.....I have a doctor appt first thing Monday and this cast will be coming off.....finally! Thank God!
And just now I hobbled to the front door to take delivery of 2 flower arrangements, one from my husband and one from friends at work. Awwwww....i am feeling the love.

@callmefia - R has a Forester, we actually are lease-to-buy on it (because the payments made more sense for us at the time) and we love it - it's a reliable workhorse, for sure. The only thing that's weird in the Forester is that, at least in R's car, the passenger seat sits noticeably lower than the drivers seat and is not adjustable. So low, in fact that the sun visors do absolutely nothing for me. I would recommend if you do go with a Forester, make sure you sit in both the driver and passenger seat. If the passenger seat is lower, opt for a car with the adjustable seats. There's nothing I wouldn't give to NOT stare at the sun half the time.
I was internet shopping for a Subaru XV Crosstrek this morning. Not going to happen (except in my dreams).
Why not? To keep my payments in line with what they are now, I need to keep it under $20k. That's why Subaru is a big fat maybe. I dont know if they deal much or offer incentives. I was scoping out the forester.
emjacobs my mom has a Liberty and I hate it. It drives like a pickup truck.
When I bought my impala I joked that I bought American because they make cars for fat Americans. Lol. My butt fits in the seat much better. I drive a lot so I want comfort!!! But I know the foreign cars are going to have lower maintenance and last longer for me.
A liberty is NOT a patriot. They are in no way similar. The Liberty has a shorter dashboard, more upright seating, and less room altogether. It is put together more as a SUV than a crossover. The patriot sits more like a car, but not completely like a car (slightly more upright), has a bigger dash, awesome suspension, etc.
I've test drove the old and new liberties and they are nothing like the patriot.

Doh, I forgot my weekend plans.
Tonight - we are going to the house to take some measurements and then over to Ikea to pick up some curtains and other much-needed accoutrements - for example - we have no sheets for the new king-size bed we bought. We'll also be looking at bathroom vanities and drawer organizers. I'm making a list. LOL
Tomorrow - R will be finishing up the flooring in the hallway and his office, then installing cedar plank flooring in the downstairs coat closet and MB closet, then installing the quarter round and t-strip mouldings through all the rooms. I'll be hanging the kitchen cabinet doors and then cleaning out the *soon to be* laundry room - the previous owners had a mouse problem years ago, but never bothered to clean up after the problem was taken care of. Good times with gloves, face mask, and clorox. Then we'll be installing a vinyl remnant in there for now. The room is literally 6x6, with a lot of floor space going to the furnace and hot water heater. After R finishes the upstairs master closet floor, I'll be putting up the closet system so that on Sunday we can start moving clothes over.
Sunday we'll be moving some stuff, including the media center and R's "listening station" (don't ask). Additionally, we'll be moving my desk and computer, some clothes, and pretty much the rest of our kitchen stuff.
But I think DH is getting me a finishing nailer - yay! And my folks are coming down. So it should be a nice weekend.
You know you're a true D&R-er when you get a finishing nailer for your birthday and are happy about it.
Hehe, I know, right? My CW was making fun of me for it. I wish my twin brother were coming in to celebrate with me. He's an electrician and I could really use his free labor
It was a long, rough week at work and I am wiped-out. And I have a very rough week ahead next week. I have a fun weekend planned but am so tired that I am almost not wanting to go and just stay home and relax.
But I am heading to Atlantic City with three of my most fun girlfriends for the night. It should be fun and I'm sure I'll have a great time but just the thought of a long night (probably with a lot of drinking) and all I have to do around the house is exhausting me.
<) Happy Birthday to davescatch and simpsongal!!! I hope you get nice (gift) (gift).
It has been a weird week, with work taking up two days instead of the four hours that I thought I would be needed. Between that and not sleeping last night and waking up with a headache today, I have not been as productive with the house as I had hoped.
I got a lot done yesterday though, and tomorrow we are going to pull out as much of the furniture and other bigger stuff to sell on CL or put out on our driveway with a sign. I am kind of hoping to go through the boxes of books, so that we can set aside the ones belonging to our daughters and sell the rest to a local used bookstore with an online business.
I am also trying to talk DH into buying a huge breakfront off of CL. I think we can make good use of it in the office at the new house. DH just realized how little of our furniture is worth moving, so he might just go for it.;p
