My parents bought a wine pairing dinner at an auction recently. We're going to host the dinner, and it will be me and DH, my parents, my sister and her husband, and two other couples that are friends of ours. I'm pretty certain it will be a French themed inner, and I'd love some recommendations of music to download for the night. My parents are more classical music types, but I don't think I really want to do classical. I'm thinking more along the lines of Ella Fitzgerald, or Glenn Miller Orchestra. Thoughts or recommendations?
Putumayo has lots of great compilation albums on iTunes, and at least of few of them are French themed. Otherwise you might look for a good jazz mix on Spotify or an iTunes radio station. Your party sounds like it's going to be fun!
ETA: If you are ambitious and want to make a mix, something with some Louis Armstrong, Eartha Kitt, Dave Brubeck, and Coltrane (and Coltrane with Monk!) would be great! Oh, and also some French singers like France Gall and Serge Gainsbourg.
