How do you deal with touchy feely people?

I work with someone like that. One day she get rubbing my arm and I backed away. She said you don't like to be touched do you. I said no not really and she never did it agaib

I'd probably not say anything and either try to move or give dirty looks if it was a short amount of time and I wouldn't have to see the person again (and I wasn't being molested or anything). Otherwise I'd use humor to make threats. If he put his arm around me more than once, I'd look at him and say something like, "Do you want to keep that arm?"

If it was someone I had to see frequently, I'd be up front and say "Hey, I'm sure you dont mean anything by it, but I really prefer not to be touched. Thanks for understanding."

Ugh, how annoying! I've never had to deal with this before, but it would drive. me. nuts. I think I would say something like, "Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm not really the touchy-feely type." Then I'd scoot over out of arm's reach.

Yeah, this is probably what I would end up doing. I'm not good at being subtle when someone who shouldn't be touching me decides to get too close.

I find hugs uncomfortable unless someone is giving you comfort and vice versa. I haven't really figured out how to deal with it but just deal with it until the person realizes that I have personal space issues.

I don't think I've ever had a stranger try to hug me, but I'm pretty sure I would lose my shit if they did. Especially if it was a guy like the one LGW is talking about.
