...to cover your outlets and light switches? Ours are really ugly -- weirdly textured metal in a dingy-looking ivory. I wouldn't mind them in white but then I'd have to change the actual outlets and switches to match, and I don't think I'm up to that. I'm thinking about either switching them to almond, which hopefully wouldn't clash noticeably with the ivory, or doing something more decorative, like maybe a brushed nickel.

We still have ivory in our new house, but I'm going to change them (probably room by room) to all white. My H wants to change the switches to the decora rocker switches, so it'll be more expensive.
We are brand new homeowners and not really DIY people yet but we changed 9 outlets out from brown to white. It really isn't too bad and cheap (I bought a contractor pack of 10 and needle nose pliers and an electrician multi tool. Altogether like $30). We carried around a small desk lamp to check power was off (we were given a tester too but the lamp was a good visual). Look at a lot of tutorials and videos online. My dad also showed us one because we struggled with the spring release.
Good to know! Maybe we should go ahead and switch them out. Our list of projects seems to be growing so much faster than we are completing them
