I have one employee who I hired because I liked him in the interview and he was a referral from a friend. He has not been a team player and has given me grief non-stop since we opened.
He ASKED for a 6am class and I gave him what he wanted. This is his fb post this morning: what a great weekend...so hard to come back to work. Not to mention getting up at 5am... I love Mondays (note the sarcasam)
This is one of about 10 that he has posted in the past. Me thinks he might not have classes when I adjust the schedule this fall.

Can you just ask him about it?
I am NOT a morning person, but I prefer to get to work early (7am) so I can leave early (3:30pm). That does not mean I enjoy it, and I probably bitch about it to my husband way to often.
I wouldn't take it personal (just the facebook messages, that is). But if he is doing OTHER things that make you think he's not a team player, then maybe you should just check in with him to evaluate how happy he is in the position.

We do need to have a talk because there are other negative aspects of his personality that are affecting the business. Thanks for the input!
I am a firm believer in training an employee and having open communication, so I think I will sit him down and see if he likes he job and to get in his head a little.
And this is why I'm not Facebook friends with anyone from work, much less my boss.
Because you say you have other issues with him, I'd probably talk to him, but if it were just the FB status bitching about Monday morning and having to go to work, I'd probably just ignore it unless he started showing up late or blowing off the class or something. It's Monday and no one looks forward to going into work after a weekend! Most people just don't come right out and say those words to their boss.

Sounds like the best approach, I would give him a chance to express whether he likes his job or not before you decide to cut him from the schedule.
