I'm beginning to wonder if it is unrealistic to think going to work should be fufilling or enjoyable. It is WORK after all.
What do you do? Do you enjoy it? What is the best part about your job? What is the worst or most stressful part of your job?
Well, I'm a teacher who is not teaching right now because there is a bit of a shortage in jobs and we moved away form my position. I did enjoy it, and hope to get back to it. Salary and benefits were definitely the best parts beyond the fun I had working with kids.
Right now I work in mid-office contract position at a bank. It's boring and monotonous, but not overy taxing. Pay and benefits suck, but I think I was spoiled by teaching. My job really isn't very stressful - or maybe I don't stress easily. The worst part is when our systems don't run properly, I guess.

I work in research. I don't actually do the research myself, but I design and create software tools for analyzing unique kinds of data for which standard approaches may not exist or aren't suitable.
I really enjoy it. My brain is only good for solving problems and this work suits me very well.
It is very satisfying to create something that works and is useful, and that helps to advance science. It's very challenging and I use my brain all the time. I get to be creative and I love numbers/quantifying things.
It can sometimes be stressful. There are deadlines, sometimes people have really crappy data and expect miracles, it is kind of hard to put yourself out there and say, "i made this thing and i think it works" because sometimes you are wrong. It is always challenging, but sometimes it just flat-out HARD. My brain hurts some days, and sometimes I am definitely overwhelmed by large projects.

Resource Acquisition and Management - HBIC
LOVE IT
The pay kicks ass, I have a TON of flexibility including being able to miss work when I need to for my volunteer stuff, appointments, meetings, etc. with no questions asked ever, the people are great, and I can walk around in my socks/wear jeans/a ball cap if I want.
I can't think of a single thing that is stressful about my work.
What do you do? - I do FCC licensing for a microwave engineering company
Do you enjoy it? -meh
What is the best part about your job? - I have zero stress, my boss and coworkers are pretty cool, I like helping clients, we wear jeans to work, my schedule is flexible, and I can work from home if I need to
What is the worst or most stressful part of your job? The head of our dept is a huuuuge pussy which causes issues, the work is boring and repetitive. I seriously outperform everyone on the team. I do more work than my boss and three coworkers combined and don't get promoted or recognized (maybe NEXT year! Is what I'm told every year).
I have a pending application open for my dream job, an analyst in the criminal justice field, but the process takes forever since its govt.

What do you do? Technology Project Manager for a school district
Do you enjoy it? I love it.
What is the best part about your job? It's low stress. I get to play with all kinds of new educational technology tools and devices. I have a great boss and coworkers. I have summers off. My mom works for the district as well, so I get to see/talk to her a lot.
What is the worst or most stressful part of your job? There isn't really anything bad or stressful. I guess the only thing is waiting for administration and board approval for projects.
