I've tried it, I liked it. It is very lean and tasty. I think people feel that horses are pets not livestock and therefore should be buried in the backyard next to the goldfish and fluffy and not put on the dinner table. I've ridden and owned horses my entire life, I have had no problems trying horse meat and don't have a problem with the idea of it being a regularly purchased meat. I probably would have a slight problem slaughtering either of the horses that is currently in my barn because they have both been with me for 13+ years, but it's ok because they are both on meds that make them unsafe for human or animal consumption
