I EPed for almost a year on a Medla. I just did some rough math & I must have pumped more than 1500 times (totally more than 350 hrs!!) this past year. Never once did I have any problems. It was about $400 & well worth every penny.
My first was the avent double electric. I hated it. There were so many parts to wash, and I could not b replacement parts.
My second one is a madela PISA, and I would buy it again in a heartbeat.
What kind of pump was she using? Is it a hospital grade one?
I'm not sure it was hospital grade? It was "enjoye" I think she said it was 200 something.
i suppose I can't complain, I've been back to work since she was 3 months and I had to supplement yet so I guess the Pisa has been great really!
It's a hygeia enjoye. That's the pump I have and have pumped for 23 months total on it as of now. I love it. It was $270. It's multi user closed system.
I had the PISA, it worked well although after I went back to work my supply slowly died. I don't know if I can blame the pump, but it didn't get as much out as she did obviously. My insurance paid for half of it, it was $300 and I had to pay $150.
I have the Medela Pisa and love it. It has made it through a year of pumping with Lydia and is on 9.5 months of pumping with calista. I used it about 3-4 times a day, 7 days a week

I also have the Hygeia Enjoye. It was around $240 for me when I bought it.
With DS, I had the Medela, and it just didn't work well for me after the first month or two. I like the Enjoye a lot more, and, even at the beginning, I was able to get more from the Enjoye in a shorter time than the PISA. I also like that it is meant to be a multi user pump, so I can pass it on to someone else when I am done with it.
