I knew DS's time as an only was ending and it flew by as I was trying to soak it all in.
There's a lot different about #2. You got pampered the first go around....IT WILL NOT HAPPEN THE SECOND TIME. Especially the younger the child is because people remember that shit. I was on strict restriction of no lifting more than 10 lbs due to my high risk status (threatened m/c after 2 full weeks of bleeding in the first tri), I laughed and pointed to DS, said I'm still picking him up, he was 24 lbs. DH only made the first tri u/s since we expected bad news and he didn't want me by myself. I went to all my other u/s after 13 weeks and appts (every 2 weeks) by myself and took DS with me. I drove myself to the hospital while in labor. I also worked while in labor.
To add more, I would also often forget I was pregnant until I got in the shower. I'd be like "holy hell, what happened to me?!"
But its true, there is much less pampering in subsequent pregnancies. No baby showers, etc. Also, DH didn't come to all of my appointments like he did the first time. It just seemed like a waste for him to sit there while they just measured my belly!
And labor was super fast and easy. I barely made it into the hospital with #2. They broke my water and he slid out with it!

My second one went so much faster, plus he came much sooner than Adam. Adam was 5 days "late" and Nolan was 6 days early, so that was nice too!!!! both pregnancies were textbook.
I don't recall much pampering and I went to most appts alone anyway because it seemed to make no sense for both of us to keep missing work. Also I don't like being the center of attention so I'll be glad to not have a baby shower this time!
This thread has turned around and made me feel positive/excited again, yay!
Have I mentioned how fast my second came out?, lol. He fucking flew out, hahaha.
I think this will be one of my biggest fears during next pregnancy. First labor was already only 6 hrs, 3 of which pushing. I think I'll have to brush DH up on what to do with precip labor in case we don't make it to hospital.
