Did your second (or subsequent) pregnancies seem to pass by more quickly than your first?
I thought it might be the opposite because of getting big and achy sooner with the second, and running around after a toddler. However maybe all the distraction of existing kid, makes it pass more quickly!
i had a good pregnancy, but it seemed sooooo long. It would be cool to think the next one might NOT feel like its about two years long... Lol
I can only speak about the first two trimesters, but I actually found the second one to go more slowly. That might, however, be because of the stress of the second one. The first pregnancy, I just floated along, totally clueless.
Sorry, it felt longer to me too. I wasn't able to nap or laze around and the end of it was just horrid having to run after and care for my son. I leaned on my husband a lot and we ate out a lot through the whole pregnancy.

Longer because I was in so much pain the second time. It was terrible. But the end kind of snuck up on me. I think because I was scared for her to actually be an outside baby.

Yes! Yes! Something to cling to! Shorter pushing time! I KNEW there was something.
So for the second pregnancy, are men as blissfully unaffected and oblivious as they ever were?
My H claims he will be more interested in feeling the baby kick and ultrasounds etc because now he knows what all of that means. Like, that's our baby! I hope I'm making sense.

my husband was much more supportive and nice to me through the second pregnancy. I think knowing exactly what you are getting at the end and knowing the relationship that will form rather than the vague idea that guys have the first time helps out.
I also think next time he will just not be able to sit around idly, as I will be too tired and he will have to take care of her. And I will be less stubborn. The first time I was all "I'm an independent woman, I don't need help!" Screw that.

Priorities changed with my 2nd pregnancy. I was pretty much incapacitated by the SPD, so H really stepped it up and almost parented Edie all on his own.

It went so much faster because I wasn't spending my freetime lounging and contemplating every aspect of the pregnancy and the future. I felt good with both pregnancies, generally speaking, and although the aches started much earlier my chiro and exercises targeting my back/uterus kept them at bay. I also had D at 37.5 vs 39.5., so it literally was faster.
Oh, yikes. They kept saying "one more push!!" for like 45 minutes!! After a while I yelled at them and said "STOP LYING TO MEEE!"
They were telling me to "push harder" wtf? Harder than what? never pushed a baby out of my vagina before. All I wanted was a sandwich. Can I eat soon, I asked desperately between contractions.
i'd love a short pushing time next time around. At least, I plan to fully convince myself it will happen, otherwise I will be terrified of labor.

It went by in a flash! I wasn't concentrating on myself or completely focused on the pregnancy, and I didn't have as much time to feel all "woe is me".
45 minutes of pushing felt like forever. @gisa, why were they pushing Owen back in?
They were trying to wait for the doctor.
I was, like, 30 seconds away from delivering alone. My doc and the nurse just happened to walk in. DH had just walked my mom and Edie down to the cafeteria for dinner and I was like "oh, there's transition" and I was all alone! It was really like 5 minutes of transition.

I'm not chasing a toddler around, so I could feel differently if that were the case. This pregnancy has felt WAY faster than my first. The first time around I was obsessed with milestones, fruit size, ticker changes, reading books etc. This time, I know what to expect so I am not hung up on timelines or little changes if that makes sense at all.

This for me too even though my second trimester was horrible because I had gallbladder attacks and almost had to have it taken out. But I really wanted my VBAC and got that too so overall a good experience. Also no swelling the second time.
Too early to say but so far it is flying. Last time I was consumed with pregnancy and prep and research. This time I usually forget I am pregnant until I shower or dress.

It seemed longer to me. It was probably because I was sick the entire pregnancy (including throwing up in the OR) instead of just the first trimester. Also, chasing around a toddler and getting up several times a night with him added to the normal pregnancy tiredness was rough.
After baby is here though, it is all worth it. (And time starts flying again as they go from newborns to toddlers in the blink of an eye.)

This for me too! Three hours no meds for me and they kept saying almost there for the last hour. Well at least I went from 2 cm to 10 in 3 hrs. I hope the pushing is a lot shorter next time (with enough time to get to hospital)
