Melody has discovered her ultra high pitched scream and will not stop. If she drops a toy, she screams. If she can't reach a toy, she screams. If she hiccups she screams (which only makes the hiccups worse it seems). If she likes a toy, she screams. If she sees a cat, she screams (and the cats just LOVE this...) My ears feel like they will burst. i've tried putting my finger over her lips and saying"quiet" or "inside voice." I've tried redirecting.
Help me. Hold me. Tell me I'm not alone and won't go deaf or start bleeding from my ears.
Also, when she is not screaming, she is grinding her teeth. Abbas knows I don't like it so I have to not react to it. I swear, she ground them and smirked at me.
I feel ya. We haven't figured out the high pitched scream yet, but he replaces that with the whining. EVERYTHING requires whining apparently. He also does the teeth grinding, and I swear, he comes over to me and then grinds, and laughs. I know they do this on purpose.
I think we're finally coming out of the screaming phase. For a couple weeks it seemed like the only sound he was making was an ear piercing screech. I was actually starting to worry about the lack of babbling. Now this week he's started doing raspberries again and is doing some babbling. He seems to have reserved the screeching for the dogs, which means it's still frequent just not constant.
Oh yeah, lots of that going on here. I feel like when she first realized she could do this, she did it non-stop. Almost like she wanted the world to know how loud she could be (atleast everyone in our apartment building)! hopefully for your sake she'll ease up on the screaming soon!
