So I'm guessing this is for a larger corporation? That sounds exactly like culture molding crap where they want all employees to fall into certain categories. If you're too alike, or no where near alike, with the rest of the company they are not interested.
I work for a very large company, and we merged with another large company. They sent all employees through this stupid fucking training to see where we landed, and then they molded the trainings to push you to thinking the way they wanted you to.

I had a company like this interested in me (they contacted me through a recruiter I had been working with). I didn't even call them back. They had terrible reviews on glassdoor, and the entire interview process made me uncomfortable. It was insanity.
It's a high level office administrator/special projects coordinator at a consulting firm. There are a lot of perks to the job, though. Gym at the office, catered lunch every day, 5 year loyalty bonus, dog friendly office, etc.
Sounds about right then. We use a large consulting firm with some of the work we do and all of the people we interact with are the same. When they started they were all taken out to dinner and constructed on how they ate, what they ordered, what wine they picked. It's funny to hear the stories, but they all love their job and they are great at it.

Actually it's a fairly small firm, I think less than 50 people in the office.
Wow, I am surprised. Sounds very big business!
I'm betting this will be a fun creative place to work then!!

The one that I looked at was around 1000 employees over several small, regional offices.
I just remembered I was required (per their website) to read a 120 page document on the company principals written by the founder of the company. I think I was supposed to be quizzed on it during my interview? Whack.

The test you are describing in detail is most likely the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale...very commononly used in the corporate world for assessing potential job candidates. I am yet to meet a person who walks away after taking it feeling anything better than overwhelmed.
Where I work, most people have a series of 4 interviews including an initial phone interview. They also undergo a series of testing similar to what you described. An intelligence test as well as a personality test. It helps them create profiles to determine whether or not the candidate will fit the mold of what the company is looking for.
I'm going through that kind of screening right now. Somehow it isn't improving my confidence or self-esteem. Ever other question, I seem to question myself! I hope you get the job!
