Macy goes down easily, her sign of getting tired is she puts her fingers in her mouth and pulls on her ear. Usually she will start getting cranky and want me to hold her, and then when I pick her up its immediate fingers in mouth and head on my chest.
When she gets like this she needs to go in her crib, she can't get comfortable anywhere else. She has the little ocean soother in her crib that I turn on and she just falls asleep watching her fishies, as I call it.
We never did any sleep training, she's always been a good sleeper and very independent, if I tried to make her sleep on me she would just flip all around trying to get comfortable. When she's tired she just wants to go to sleep on her own. I should say that sometimes she does cry when I put her in her crib but only for a minute or two. If its any longer than 5 minutes usually I will get her back up because she's not ready to go to bed yet.
Ever since we sleep trained at 6 months, he goes to bed without an issue at night.
Every night I take him in his room, change him into pjs, nurse him and then put him in his crib (asleep or not).
Has Louie just recently figured out how to stand up in his crib? It took Lincoln about 2 weeks to get back to his normal sleeping ways after learning to stand up. So that might be it?
Yeah it is a possibility. We just lowered the crib all the way. He just started doing it a few weeks ago. But now he can get back down, so sometimes he will sit down, roll around, and then get back up again. He was just screaming and standing for a bit because he couldnt figure out how to get back down and he needed our help. lol he was stuck.
Aw haha yeah, he's probably just getting used to it. Once it's not 'new' anymore, it *should* get better.
DS is fairly easy to put to bed. I nurse, read a story, turn the lights out and sing/rock him for 1-2 minutes. If he is not already asleep, he'll fall asleep quickly once he's in the crib.
I really liked nursing him to sleep, but that stopped working about 1 month ago. He wouldn't fall asleep on the boob and would act very cranky/squirmy. One night I just tried reading him a short story and putting him in his crib. It worked and we haven't gone back.
Yes, never had much of an issue putting her to bed (except when I went to Ireland for some reason). But 95% of the nights she goes to sleep without a fuss.
BUT this is because I nurse her to sleep still. To complete sleep most of the time. Yup, I am guilty of this. I have a hard time stopping because we have such a nice little routine going and bedtime is sweet and easy.
Depends on the night. Sometimes I'll lie him down as he's out fine in a few minutes, others he cries, whines, ad stands up for a while.
We did the same sleep training as bean, a combo of PU/PD and the shuffle. It worked really well in teaching him to fall asleep on his own, he just has issues with going back to sleep on his own
Regina, this probably sounds weird but I've been having success with getting L settled in the crib for naps by me being in the crib with him. He has him morning nap around 11ish and bottle at 11 too. I start the bottle down in the living room. He usually drinks about half. Then we go to his crib and I get in there with him and finish the bottle. He's usually drowsy but awake when I get up to leave. Weird I know. But I think it's working.
Very easily. I am lucky and have a great sleeper, I'm sure the next one will be terrible to make up for it though.
She goes down without a peep around 8. Up until about a month or two ago, I would hold her and cuddle her to sleep. She would get real whiney and just be all over the place. So one night, out of frustration, I just put her in her crib and she went straight to sleep. She wanted to be in her crib and not me holding her. So ever since then, I just lay her down after her bottle and she rolls right over and goes to sleep.
This is exactly what A does. He nurses and the at some point he'll unlatch and look at his bed and that's my cue for one last cuddle before I lay him down. He is out literally seconds later. And yes, I'm sure little brother or sister will run me ragged.
At night she goes down pretty easy.. she'll babble to herself for a while usually but then go to sleep. Naps on the other hand now that she's figured out she can pull herself to standing in the crib can be a nightmare.

Our routine is bath, pjs, nurse and rock, story, saying goodnight to the animals on the walls, bed. He is placed in his crib and we leave the room. On most nights he is asleep before I go down the stairs.
Audrey is one of those babies that I just lay down in her crib fully awake, leave the room and she is out within 5 minutes. She would only sleep on me and have to be transferred asleep for the first 3 months. Then I read on here about the 90 min awake and tried it. After 90 min I would lay her down and leave her and let her fuss a little (not cry) and after a week or so she would do it with no fussing. The downside is that if she's sleepy she DOES NOT want to be held. Like, she HATES it and will get really mad. So no sleepy baby snuggles ever for me.

Jamie used to be all about the sleep snuggles until we sleep trained him. Now he goes down really easily, but not with us. I tried to nap with him once and he was just so excited to be in my bed he was bouncing around. He went to sleep as soon as I put him in his crib

Yes! And falling asleep in the carrier is hit or miss and involves a lot of crying and struggling until she's just too weak to fight anymore and passes out.
Holy shit guys I cannot believe there are so many that don't get a good night sleep! I am so sorry!! I sprinkle magic dust on my kids heads! I kind of feel like an asshole that my kids mostly STTN and have for a while... I hope all your kids have longer nights soon so you can get some nice rest!!! Hugs!!
Sorry realized I should have posted this on Ernie's post!!
Yes, but we have always been lucky with that aspect of his sleep. Occassionally he fusses or cries a bit, but we very rarely able to go in and pat him, etc. however, he still wakes for the day at 5 AM ish every day of it makes you feel better
Naps I rock him to sleep. If DH puts him down for a nap (he doesn't rock him)there is much crying involved.
Anna is easy to sleep now. It took a long time of sleep training. She gets nursed and placed in her crib, sometimes she is still asleep - sometimes she's awake. If she's awake still she usually just falls asleep, but sometimes will still fuss for a few minutes. She sleeps 7ish to 6ish.

Lol! Can you please take a pic of this? Hey, I will try anything!
Keep in mind that Madison can't pull up or sit up her crib yet.
I nurse her and when she's done she pops off and I put her in her crib awake. She starts sucking her thumb and she puts herself to sleep. She's always been this way. No sleep training. I acknowledge we are lucky.
For naps it is the same except I don't nurse her before.

Preston is very easy to put down I basically just a put him in the crib and turn on his mobile and Scouts bedtime music. Usually he just lays down and falls asleep. Sometimes he will sit up and talk to himself and play a bit but will eventually lay down and go to sleep. Same thing for naps. We did not sleep train.

DS goes to sleep really easily but that's because I cheat. I put on his sleep sack, turn on Scout's bedtime music. I lay DS in my bed and lay down next to him. I roll away and he burrows into my back and passes out. It usually takes less than 10 minutes. Then I transfer him. Now if I lay him down in the PNP or crib awake, you'd think it was full of hot lava. I really need to work on that but I so love how fast bedtime is right now.
