I think if you use the right products it would work.
I have fine, limp hair and had a pixie a couple of times and loved it. Sometimes with fine hair the longer it is the flatter it will be because of the weight.

Honestly, I think these cuts are hard to pull off.
If you look closely, all of the actresses that have super short cuts are either petite or very thin. I think super short hair can make most people's faces look too full unless you are on the thinner side.

How long is it now? Would you post a pic?
I chopped like 10 inches off my hair almost a year ago. It was great. I have kind of a longish pixie right now and have really debated going super short a la Anne Hathaway or Charlize, but I've refrained. My DH liked my long hair, and although he's okay with it short and knows I like it, he keeps saying he's going to shave his head if I go any shorter. I'm not sure if he actually would, but I prefer his hair the way it is, so I'm torn.
I had long, fine, straight, pretty limp hair. Cutting that much off made a huge positive difference, but also exposed some things I didn't know -- like I have a cowlick in the back that makes styling the short hair kind of a pain, but was so weighed down by longer hair that I never knew it was there. I also have more body overall and my hair seems thicker with the short cut. I also am forced to do regular maintenance (otherwise I would get my hair cut like once a year, and often did when it was long and all one length) and I use product a lot more regularly because otherwise it just looks sloppy.
I wasn't sure I could pull it off, but the short cut is more forgiving than I thought on my features.
Some days I wish I could totally change the look the way I could with long hair (curling, braiding, etc.) and that's not really possible with a very short cut. And I know it'll be a PITA to grow out, but I'll deal with that if/when I ever want to.
Honestly, I think these cuts are hard to pull off.

I disagree with this. I've never been in the thinner side and I looked good with a pixie. Your face shape is more important.

If you really want to go the pixie route, I would consult your stylist. A good stylist will tell you if that type of cut will work with your hair and face, they will also be able to tell you the amount of maintenance and styling involved.

I have relatively thick hair, but it is super straight and flat if left to it's own devices. I had a pixie for a long time (usually more like Anne's) and I found it was really easy to keep volume. It just took a little bit of mousse and 2 minutes of blow drying my hair upside down and I had good body all day in pretty much any weather conditions.
I've gone chin length before, and I kind of want to try shorter. But I've tried to bring in hollywood pictures before for haircut inspiration, and it never looks the same. They always have fake hair inserts that make it look thicker and/or spend hours on their hair which normal people don't have time to do.

I agree with SueSue. I think you would look awesome with a pixie cut. Do you have a lot of hair? I think with the right product and a lot of hair, short haircuts are best for people with fine hair.

I have fine, limp hair and a pixie cut is the best thing that's ever happened to it, seriously. It won't look like Anne Hathaway's, but it will look good.

I say, go for it, for all the reasons that pp listed. I bet you'll rock it! Short hair is fun after having it really long, IMO. Look around for pictures of styles you like and print them out (I liked Michelle Williams' cut, back when it was more similar to Anne's than to Charlize's.) Short hair does have a bit of learning curve, and you can't just slap it in a ponytail anymore, but it's new and different and I like mine a lot.
Be prepared for your stylist to possibly try to talk you out of the drastic-ness, though. Mine kept asking if I was really sure, or if I wanted to do it in stages, and I was like, "I'm sure. Just cut it already!" I actually went even a bit shorter in subsequent cuts.
Honestly, I think these cuts are hard to pull off.

I'm 220 lbs and have a pixie. So thanks!
Also, I have thin, fine hair and like I said, I have a pixie.
