I usually go with a temporary color vs. permanent or try for highlights. Now if only I could find a new stylist now to do it, that would be lovely... I sorely need color, I have too many grays!

I use ammonia-free dye at home in a well-ventilated room. I didn't color at all in the first trimester, but I've dyed it two or three times during the second and third tri.
I'm 38 years old. Brown hair no longer comes naturally to me.
I've also had coffee every day, sushi occasionally AND a small glass of wine here and there.

I don't dye my hair ever, but I would continue during pregnancy if it was something I normally did. I am also currently drinking a caffeinated Diet Coke, largely ignore dietary restrictions, and asked my psychiatrist to put me back on my ADs yesterday. So I am not overly cautious about this stuff.
My ob says it is fine. I will hit the salon to go back to my natural color as soon as I feel up to it. (I have really heavy highlights that have really grown out.) if it were me, I would wait until 2nd tri just to be safe.
