I am going to get the S3 too! I am so glad that you like it!
I am researching chiropractors online while on hold with Bank of America. I seriously have no idea why I continue to bank with them other than there are so many locations. They are seriously the worst.
I'm glad you like the s3! I've had mine since August and absolutely love it. Sorry about your food poisoning.
Everyone in my house woke up to the smell of oil yesterday. The oil tank in the basement ruptured, dripping onto the floor. It took three guys a few hours to drain it and drag it through the (finished, carpeted) basement. They gave us some magic spray and the oil smell was completely gone by this morning. The $2700 bill, however, was not.

OMG! Do you rent? Have you spoken to the landlord? That seems crazy that you'd be responsible for the whole bill.
Oh, haha. This is my parents house, which they own. Coincidentally they were planning on meeting with someone this morning about refinancing.
I do feel bad though because they were planning on using the cash to make the ground floor bathroom a handicap accessible shower for my grandfather. Now that might not happen.

Well, here's a random. Since providing grandkids, I can do no wrong in my mom's eyes (hot) I think the woman is still in shock that I got married, let alone had kids.

I had my 2nd interview yesterday with the director...She told me that I'm the top candidate & she was pretty much bringing me in for the 2nd interview to meet me. So now I guess I just wait for a job offer? I didn't even remember to ask what the next steps are or how long of a wait it would be - I was just so excited to hear that I was the top candidate.
Shoot me now. I couldn't sleep all night because of a lingering cough from a cold that managed to rampage through our house while we were on 2 coasts. I also picked up pinkeye from DD and DH. And I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon for a freelance job in Dallas. Add to that my ILs are driving up tomorrow for DD's birthday (which is going to be the lamest birthday EVER) and my mom calls me every day in a Percocet fog just to talk to her. I just want to 1) sleep 2) feel better and 3) get through this weekend as painlessly as possible.
5KC, I'm sorry things are sucky right now. Rock, food poisoning is the worst, I hope you're over the hump. Rikki, I'm super excited about your u/s. Awkward, that sounds like a mess.
Ok something positive: I just bought Avett Brothers concert tickets for this summer. Same price as Mumford and Sons last August, but reserved seats and under a roof.
But now I see Weezer (!!!!!) is playing at Hampton Beach in July. Crap, I can only afford one show.

I saw that, and it bummed. me. out. Weezer is too awesome for Hampton Beach. I'm glad I have to work that night, otherwise I would go and be sad, heh.
And thanks for the hugs and good thoughts, everyone. Rock & SCM, we should do a post-work Harvard Sq. get together one night. I can totally give you a lift home, Rock.

Ooh, I have a non-depressing random: I am sitting on the couch futzing around on the interwebs, and I have the Jane's Addiction concert we recorded from Palladia playing in the background. It's totally putting me in a good mood, because I had SUCH a good time out that show. I did the White Girl Rock Show Dance until I dropped. And I'm totally sitting here ass dancing on my couch, heh.
(Although, I do not understand why the eff it's censored. You're a cable channel! That shows only concerts! Sheesh.)
Plus, we get to pick up the poocher in 45 minutes, yay! It's so quiet here without him.
hellzkitten, that's great news! Looking forward to officially congratulating you
I wonder how hulley has been doing with her new job.
Hi, ladies!
Sorry I've been MIA. I've been lurking a bit but haven't had time to post with the new job and everything.
I *love* this job. I feel like this is the perfect position for me. It is not my own classroom, but it also lacks the negatives that come along with that. I love teaching just one subject, not having so much paperwork, and not having duties (which, in the teaching world, is HUGE). I have an actual lunch break, which I never thought would happen. When I was student teaching we were lucky to get 10-15 minutes. There are so many pros to this job, that I really can't complain about the slightly shorter school day and resulting lower pay. The salary is higher than I expected, so it's really a wash. I'm hoping to stay here for a few years.
I'm on vacation this week. Hating this weather and wishing so much that I'd booked a trip. I was in Florida this time last year. I've been searching for trips over April break and thinking H and I will visit either Myrtle Beach/Puerto Rico/Tampa. Any recs? I love Tampa, but haven't been to PR or MB.
I am leaning towards Puerto Rico as well. My neighbors growing up were from there and always had the best stories. The cost is the same for all three places, so I'm having trouble choosing. My only requirements are a beach, good food and a short flight.
I'm teaching math at the elementary level. I love it. It's a grant funded position, which means the rules are a little bit different for me than they are for the more traditional teachers. This gives me a lot more instructional freedom, which is the one thing that I was worried about missing if I were to have my own classroom. A lot of districts exert a lot of control over what is taught, how it is taught and when. I'm fortunate to not have that.
I feel like its going to take me a week to recover from my sorority conference over the weekend. I got like 3-4 hours of sleep each night. Then work as been crazy as a member of my team is leaving.
The wedding feels like it is coming so quickly, I feel like we have tons to do.
5KC I missed your post, but so sorry you're going through a tough time. I'm happy to help or meet up whenever, just let me know. ((hugs)) Rikki - I'm guessing girl!! Rock- glad you're feeling better.
I have eaten at Flour Bakery twice in the last 5 days! Thank god I do not live close to any of the locations or I'd be there everyday!
Avett Brothers have a great concert we went last fall at the Bank of America Pavilion! I saw Weezer over 10 years ago in Baltimore, didnt realize they were on tour again.

I'd like to see Mumford and Sons soon...
I'm glad the Avett Brothers put on a good show! The special guest is Old Crow Medicine Show which is an added bonus.
I got to see Mumford last summer on a total fluke. I read about them performing in Portland two days before tickets went on sale. I went home that night and booked a hotel room, praying that I'd get tickets. The next morning by some miracle I got through and scored two tickets under the "early sale" price. The rest of the tickets were sold out in under 20 minutes. I tried my luck again when they were playing in Boston earlier this month but got nothing.
Their summer festival type tour goes all kinds of weird places like Portland, lol. Maybe New England will get lucky again in 2014!
I saw Weezer a few times in the 90's (I'm old). I still love their first 3 albums, but I kind of stopped paying attention after that.
I've seen them a few times, too - the best was with Weezer/Foo Fighters show ages ago.
The last time I saw them was when they came to Lowell a few years ago. 2008, maybe? Anyway, H had never seen them, and I still loved them despite Rivers creepiness. I shit you not, we were LITERALLY the oldest people there, except for the mom who brought her middle-schoolers (and then freaked out at the two girls making out across the aisle from them). The show was awful, and the crowd sucked. We left early, and H vowed never to go to a show at Tsongas again after the ridiculous pat-down. For a Weezer show.
There was actually some comedian on the John Oliver stand-up show who did a whole bit about how much he loved Weezer, and how he went to a show recently, and he was the oldest person in the room. And that first he thought he was the creepy old guy at a Weezer show, but then realized that Weezer are the creepy old guys at a Weezer show, because they're the ones who are in their 40s and still making music that appeals to 14 year olds. I'm not doing it justice, but it was freaking hilarious.
We missed Mumford's Gentlemen of the Road tour last year, twice. We were in 2 of their towns about a week after they were there. Boo. And their standard tour sold out in minutes. Maybe next time...
DH would die of excitement if I got him Avett Bros tix
I'm jealous you're going to see Avett Brothers, Awkward! That'll be fun.

Me too.
I actually saw Weezer at the very first show that they played when they got back together, which was at a club on Lansdowne Street. I somehow got tickets and drove from my Maine (where I was attending undergrad) to see it. I can't remember much other than that....but it must have been the spring of 2000 or 2001 and it was before the green album actually came out.
I caught their Memories tour when they came to Boston. Was that two or three years ago? It was sometime after I moved to PVD. I went to the pinkerton night and it was pretty amazing. I freaking love the old Weezer.

Oh, and I am pretty sure I saw Weezer at the Tsongas arena in 2001 or 2002 - sometime in college after the green album came out. My husband loves to make fun of me because I drove him to the show and I drove into a pole in a parking garage. Still, 12 years later, that is his example of why I am a bad driver.
