Love it! It would be perfect in a living or dining room.
Is it a Drexel piece?
It says it's a Duncan Phyfe.
It's listed for $295. Do you all think that's a good price in general?
I talked to DH about it last night and he said he liked it but he felt bad splitting up a set (It's listed with a matching china cabinet that I've pictured below). He always thinks up the weirdest reasons against things. We might try to look at it this weekend since it's kind of out in the boonies.

This is listed on my CL for 500$. Solid mahogany, made by drexel. When you posted your pic I thought maybe you lived in my town, lol, but they are slightly different.
If its real Duncan Phyfe it's worth loads more than $300! I'm willing to bet a fair amount that its Phyfe inspired, but made by Drexel or maybe even Lane. Still excellent quality though and worth 300.
(I don't want to seem like a know it all, I research antiques for work and this is something I've cons across a few times.)

You totally don't sound like a know-it-all and I appreciate all the information! I fully admit that I don't know a lot about it -- I just look for stuff I think is pretty.

The Drexel line is Travis Lane. It's buffet is similar to yours, but slightly different. It doesn't have the keyplate and the bottom trim is different. The china cabinet you posted does look like it is Drexel though. I wouldn't feel bad about splitting them up. They're similar, but it doesn't appear they're actually from the same set. Look at the trim. The china cabinet is missing the more ornate work on the sides, and the bottom trim piece is different.
I'm on the hunt for Drexel myself. The Travis Lane set is what my grandmother had and I'd love to get my hands on it.

Funny you should say that, because my mom (who is helping in my search) sent me a link to this and I thought it looked really close to the first one I liked. I asked DH what the differences were and he pointed out exactly the differences you mentioned. Is this the Travis Lane?
DH and I drove out and bought the sideboard on Saturday. I ended up paying $270 for it. It is in good shape - just a few little issues. It fits against our wall perfectly. Now I just have to figure out how to style it. Here's a pic against our wall (Sorry for the crappy phone pic):
Very pretty! I really like older furniture with style and detail. Is it in your dinning room? Maybe a lamp with a mirror above. I have the hardest time accessorizing my furniture. My MIL is constantly fixing things for me
