I know there was a post like this before but anyway
if you are having the party at home and you live somewhere it won't be warm ... How many people are you inviting and how many square feet is your home?
my house is about 1250 square feet and a cape, so the bottom floor is maybe... 800 square feet? How many people can be here comfortably, and then uncomfortably but only a bit awkward not physically impossible?
it depends on your layout and how closed off your rooms are. We are inviting 60ish adults and 20ish kids. Our house is 2500 sq ft but is 2 floors. Our kitchen/family room are an open floor plan.
We've had 30 in just the kitchen many times. I'm not too worried about it.
I know I've discussed this, too, before. We have a small ranch, 1,044 sq. feet. We are inviting about 30 people. I don't think they will all come. I'm most worried about the 2-4 children under the age of 3. When we have parties it seems like people hang out in the living room and kitchen the most. I'm planning on using most of our kitchen space to set up food so I'm a little worried about losing space there. We've had small parties before with maybe 10 people and it was comfortable. I'm really hoping for a warm day.

1600 sq ft colonial with exactly half of that being our main downstairs (so 800 sq ft). We do have a finished basement as a option or a dumping ground for kids because that is where the Wii is.
We had at least 50 people in the house for his Bris because it was a rainy day. We managed to have everyone eat in that amount of space. I am anticipating around 30-40 for his birthday.
Our layout isn't great but maybe by rearranging some furniture we can make more space.
Do you provide seating or just like, sit on the couch if you feel like it but most people are standing?
We have an open floor plan so we push all of our furniture to the walls and bring in some extra folding chairs. For his bris, we set up random card tables around when it was time to eat. Some people stood, some sat at the card tables, and some sat on the couch. Anyone that wanted a seat could have found one.
We're having it at our house. Our house is a good size, but it is all split up on 4 levels so we will just be using 1/4 of our sq ft. At least we will only have a handful of people here.
Our apartment is a little over 1400 sq ft. We're going to invite about 20 people, but we only have seating for 15, 18 if we bring out some small stools we have. Is that ok? I figure not everyone will necessarily show up anyway?
Hmm yes I'm going to factor in a 25 percent no show, so if I invite 40 I will expect 30. It would be amazing if it were nice out, but that's pretty unlikely here sadly.
The kids are the thing, all our friends have kids and our house is too small to have all these kiddos running around! Aah.
People will make due with the space you have, but make sure you have seating for older family members / those that may have trouble standing for longer periods of time.

If mine has to be inside, I will likely move our dining room table to the side to open up more room for hanging out, as our 1200 sq. foot house is rather...cozy. I'm realllllly hoping it can be mostly outside, though, as we have a huge covered area in the back yard that we jokingly call the party pavillion.

This for us too. This is our square footage but we will only use half our house and the backyard.
My "dilemma" is that I am still trying to decide wether we will go to the nearby (adorable) park with a playground there where people will disperse but the kids will LOVE the playground - or stay here on our deck/inside the house (it should be nice out for us that time of year) and then it will be more contained. We will have to get some tables from somewhere and extra chairs if we do it here, whereas at the park there are benches, the only problem w/ the park being that someone has to get there in the morning to reserve all of them because there are a ton of kids in the area and they have parties there all the time. I just don't see H (or anyone else for that matter) wanting to do that at 8am Also, I feel like it will be easier to NOT have to treck the food/supplies to the park even though it's only a 7-8 min walk/1 min drive from our house.
Hm... we're inviting 30-40 people. I feel like we'll have 20 people tops... who knows though. We are planning to be in our new home for the party. It is 2300+sqft so space is no issue. Especially since there is a man cave for the annoying men to take off to. If we are not in our new home by then we will be in our townhome which is 1100sqft. I'm not sure where everyone would go? We had a little baptism thing here with like... 8 people and that was kind of nuts. We've had a few other little get togethers (like a small bachelorette party where everyone was drunk so that was NBD either). I feel like this could be pure failure if it's at our townhome. *NOT* because of the square footage but the layout sucks in this place and there is no where for anyone to go. Also, there is no backyard or anything so...... uh. I haven't thought that far ahead. I really should be thinking about this because the speed that they are moving on our house we will be moving in when we have baby #2.
We are having their rescheduled one on March 10th... my home is close to 2600, so the bottom floor is half that and pretty open floor plan (colonial). We are having about 25. I've had a party with up to 40 here and it worked. Have plenty of seating (couch is supersized and fits about 7-8 comfortable, plus 17 other chairs on the bottom floor).
We don't have a lot of room so we're considering doing family only to keep the numbers to about 20. If the weather is nice we have a patio and screened porch but in New England it's too risky to count on it!

I haven't posted in a while, but we always have out parties at our house even thought it is on the small side and we are in a cold climate. We set up a canapy/tent thing over the back patio. We also clean out our garage and decorate in there (use table cloths from the dollar store over the stuff on the walls) and put up tables and chairs in there for people to sit. It has worked well for us.
ETA: I forgot to put how many people we usually invite. We normally have between 50 and 60 people tehre and it never seems too bad.
We have a 1200 sq foot loft and a huge roofdeck. We are inviting about 60 people (if you count 2 parents and a baby). I'm assuming some wont come, people will come in shifts, and praying that its warm enough to go upstairs.
Everyone on the invite list with kids only has a one year old. Well, except for the one 3 year old and two 2 year olds that might be there.
