I know 2 people that say it worked for them. I had a friend recently get pregnant after trying for 10 months and was getting acupuncture for 6 weeks and then it happened. She said that she regulated her cycle and was doing a Mayan belly massage on her.
My best friend had tried to get pregnant for almost three years, and was pregnant 8 weeks after getting acupuncture. She said the same thing as Cricket's friend, it regulated her cycle.
Our diagnosis is actually MFI, but I did find acupuncture relaxing and there's people that swear it also increases egg quality. I also took a ton of vitamins during our successful cycle, so who knows. I'm all for anything that makes you feel better in any capacity while going through IF.

I did several rounds timed with my fertility treatments. I did not get pg around the time I was doin acupuncture, but I do think it helped. I use to have very painful cycles and horrible cramps. After acupuncture, I have almost no cramps. It's been 5 years since I did acupuncture, and my cycles are still less painful.
My fertility doctor believes so highly that acupuncture increase the odds of getting pregnant, they have an acupuncturist on site and asks that anyone doing IVF does it.

YES! (Hi, random MMer crossing over). I did acu after having a m/c. I also have PCOS, and I totally credit the acu with getting my cycle back on track, and getting pg again so quickly. I also found it incredibly relaxing. I can't recommend it enough!
I'm in the middle of it right now. We (H and I) are both unexplained IF, and I also have a lower back issue, which is why I started acupuncture in the first place. I don't have high hopes, but I figure it's worth a shot.
Yes I think it made a difference but I only did one session before starting fertility treatments and it was actually just too expensive for me to keep going as many times as they wanted me to keep coming (once a week) so I don't know if it would have helped my cycles regulate naturally. That being said, I did accupuncture before two out of my three IUIs and the third one I wish I had done it because the nurse said my cervix was "angry." Accupuncture really relaxes me.
For my IVF cycle I wasn't responding to the meds and scheduled an emergency accupuncture session and two days later my response was terrific. I also did it before and after my transfer.
My co-worker's wife did it, after baby #1. They had 4 years of unexplained IF between kid #1 and pg #2. I wondered about it because he's very Catholic and I figured after their 1st she'd start having a passel full o' kids.
They had tried EVERYthing and acupuncture was a last resort and it worked.
One of my BFFs did and was successful. She also recommends The Infertility Cure by Dr. Randine Lewis (it delves into Eastern Medicine's perspectives on causes/solutions for infertility).

I tried it for 3 months with no success, but my H and I have unexplained infertility so I'm not sure what the acupuncture could fix to begin with. That being said, I really loved my acupuncturist. He treated me way better and was more informative than my regular doctor. His recommendation was that we do an IUI combined with acupuncture, which I may end up doing one of these days but not in the near future. We've been trying unsuccessfully for 2 years now, and I'm becoming attached to our childless life.

I have not done acupuncture, but will likely do so before the frozen embryo transfer I have planned this summer.
If you are looking for some non-Western medicine options, I have heard a lot about this book. I believe they advocate for acupuncture along with lifestyle changes that are consistent with Eastern medicine ideas. I am thinking about picking it up and trying the program for the next few months. I mean, can't hurt at this point, right?

I read this and liked it. I didn't implement the suggestions to a tee or anything, but it is good, solid information.
Thanks! This pushed me over the edge and I ordered it for delivery on Saturday.
