I think its a little different for me because my kids are in daycare, so their schedules are usually influenced by that. But, at daycare they move to 1 nap usually around 14 months. On weekends, I know my kids sometimes still took 2 naps around that time, but most often, it was 1 longer afternoon nap.
DS1 went to one nap around age 1, it was typically right after lunch, and last 2 hours on average. He stopped napping all together at age 2.
Really?
I freaking love naptime and refuse to let it go away. I make my 6 year old have "quiet time" on weekends still and my 3 year old too. He usually sleeps, but sometimes not. But they at least have quiet time. I refuse to let the "nap" die.
Somewhere between 12-14 months. Ashlynn still takes a nap in the afternoons. Her's used to last 3 hrs, but now it has slowly decreased and we are at about 1.5 hrs now. If we are busy on the weekends, she doesn't get a nap.....and it shows.

My oldest has never been a good sleeper. It has been a fight with her since day one. However, my youngest seems to be transitioning to one nap now. She tends to go down between 10 and 11. She will then sleep anywhere from 2-3 hours.

It was not my choice, right after he turned 2 he would NEVER sleep during the day, and has since proven that he is sooo not a child that needs naps. We tried, trust me. He does not nap anymore, but he still rests, see the difference? To me, napping is when you sleep, he won't sleep but he will have rest time everyday. Um....yeah....I am not giving up that time yet. lol.

We put them in their rooms. Somestimes they sleep, sometimes not. But my 3 year old does more times than not. I know some kids don't need that time. I think my kids take after me though, because they like sleep!

I agree with not giving it up! I don't wanna!!
Yep, up in his room every day (when he is not at school) after lunch. He is usually up there playing for 1.5-2 hours, it's really my "me" time, he does not need it at all, haha. He typcially will quietly build with his leggos. My BFF gave up on it because her daughter stopped sleeping and would instead just bother my friend the whole time. I thought she was NUTS for giving that time up. I will never give up that time, without a fight
Jameson is upstairs dicking around in his room and not sleeping right now He went down to one nap around 14 months and would sleep from 2-3 hours usually starting around 12:30-1ish. Naps are hit or miss right now and it annoys me that he isn't even 2.5 yet. He still spends a couple of hours in his room during that time though.

Around one and he still naps (wool be four tomorrow) and needs it especially on the weekends to catch up from school all week. My kids are also like me and like sleeping general. But they both get up during the night ... Usually not just once. Yawn!

It's hard to say. My kids are in daycare and when they transition to the toddler room they only get one nap. I know DD needed her morning nap on the weekends until she was about 18 months old. DS is still sleeping 1.5 hours in the morning and 1.5 in the afternoon so I don't see him being ready on his own anytime soon.

Graham will be one March 26. I'd love to have him down to one nap by June so we can get outside in the mornings before it gets too hot. There's no playing outside during Oklahoma summer afternoons. Am I crazy to think I can get him on a one nap schedule at 14 months? Seems possible to me, especially after hearing some of your responses.
Henry was about 15 months. He started skipping his morning nap a few times a week, so after a few weeks of that I forced him into it. The first week sucked because the one sp would be super short, but then he got the hang of it.
Oh, and if E hasn't done it himself by the end of June (when school ends) I plan on pushing him into it. I do not want 2 naps a day during the summer! I think it is defintely doable.
