Thad signs for milk. I only ever half ass taught him so I am fairly impressed. Except now he signs it all. The. Time. And pretty much refuses solids when I'm around. He just signs milk non stop.
What do I do? Anyone? I say "no milk right now, lets eat lunch" but he just clamps his mouth shut.
He also does this every time he wakes up at night.
Laney has a favorite sign too- all done. She walks around signing it all the time. She does still use it appropriately though. Did he just recently pick up the sign? Maybe he's experimenting with it. Like laney will sign all done after just a few bites but then still want more so I would just correct her, kind of like you're doing. I dont know what to say about refusing solids though... I would just give it a day or so and hopefully he'll start learning that he can't have it whenever he wants and needs to eat food at mealtimes...

I'd probably just give him milk too...
I taught DS how to sign milk and he's done it a few times but now he seems to say "mamamama" when he wants milk. He will even do it at DC until they give him a sippy.
Ansley uses the milk sign for any food. We're working on teaching her eat, but milk is her favorite. I try to differentiate, but at least she has some communication
Most of the time I do let him nurse. I only redirect when it is a meal time. It is just so strange to me! He was never one to comfort nurse and now he wants boob all the time! I think he just likes the control of it. Plus, then he plays with my belly button which is apparently the best thing ever.
