I enjoy facebook because it lets me keep in contact with people I might not normally be in contact with, but sometimes it just displays the crazy idiocy out there.
A friend of mine just made the post that two of his kids "had flu shots this year but still managed to get sick... If you're taking score, that means... Flu: 2 Flut Shot: 0"
I responded that if they have the stomach flu, it's not the influenza. A friend of his replied, "This is why I don't get flu shots....I don't trust something that the government says is good for me. "
So, if the government says something is good, then it's automatically bad? I can't wrap my head around that logic.
I can see not doing something just because the government says it is good. Actually thinking for yourself and researching on your own, but automatically not doing anything the government encourages is just dumb.

Absolutely I can see not taking things on face-value, but if someone distrusts the government that much, I think they're ready for the tinfoil hat brigade.
I would unfriend somebody over less. I have no patience for facebook stupidity. DH would poke at the stupid.
This was a friend of a friend, and if I unfriended people just for posting stupid, anti-government stuff, I would have to unfriend half my list.
I have a plugin on my facebook. It takes all political posts (or any posts with key words that I chose) and replaces them with photos of puppies and kittens. I can always click on the photo to see the real post, but it cuts out a lot of the stupidity.

Does it work with pictures too? Because if I see one more bogus founding father quote saying why gun control (and any other democratic issue) is bad, I'm going to scream.
