How does the paint not crack off/rub off/come off on clothing?!
I see this around on a few blogs I read and every time I see it, I think the person is nuts. I know they spray the chairs to help the paint sink in but all I can imagine is sitting down in a painted chair, only to stand back up with flecks of cracked paint on me.
I haven't seen this but back in the early 80s my grandma painted a piece of oil cloth (kind of like a heavy canvas?) and then used some kind of sealant and used it as a floor covering in her kitchen. It took a lot of wear and tear and never cracked or flaked. Is it something like that?

Nope. People are just using plain old acrylic paint and painting chairs/fabric.
