Hi I'm a newbie but wanted to share my weekend workouts...
Friday night: Ran on the treadmill for 10, 25 minutes on the bike, 35 on the Elliptical. A nice 668 calories burned
Saturday: Rest day
Sunday: I had a lot of motivation from Saturday. I've been talking about possible doing the Tough Mudder in June. And I went to breakfast with my sister Sat am and she told me that her and her bf don't think I can do it. They think I don't realize how strenuous it is and that it's not just "another 5k"... Needless to say I was not happy and determined.
My workout consisted of a 5 min walk, 8 min run, 2 min walk, 8 min run, 2 min walk, 32 min run, 1 min cool down. 658 calories burned and total distance 4.24 miles
Monday: Took on the gym at 4 am this morning and warmed up with a brisk walk for 5 minutes and then ran a 5k on the treadmill in 40 followed by a walk and some steps.
I'm determined to prove my sister that I've got it in me. I found a 1/2 marathon training schedule. And I'm not telling them but I'm going to train my hardest and prove them that I've got more than a 5k in me.

This is great that you are motivated to do more, but make sure you are doing it for you too and not just your family. Otherwise the training will become long and boring!
