I always love seeing where people do their outdoor workouts...mine isn't all that awe inspiring, but I think it captures the essence of my 8 mile run yesterday. Cold and lonely! I am grateful that the state/county keeps our running and biking trails cleared of snow.
There is a lake a few miles from my house that I like to run around. This isn't that great of a picture, but you can get the general idea. 7.14 miles of insane hills!
Can I add one more? It is hard (for me) to believe that these two places are within (long) running distance of each other!
Here's the trail that I end up doing most of my long runs on...obviously not my picture or this time of year.
And I live on the other side of this lake, the side closer to the mountains, so most of my runs include this view. Man, I live in a real shithole, don't I?
Did this work? The first is my crazy kid without her coat on it this weekend. The second is a newspaper pic. I love it -- lots of hills. Of course, it was a lot better before it opened to traffic (sad)
This is from Google Maps of the road I ran along today for my 4 miler.
Part of my run is through more neighborhood-y areas (including my own for the first and last 0.5), but about half was along this road/similar. This is what most of my long run roads look like.
It looks a lot like that now, just more brown and dead from the winter. Not much snow left.
Is that Tramway, kams? One of these days I should get over there for some variety...
It is! Yes, it's lovely. I do most of my cycling on tramway & the old rt 66 too. Is your pic off paseo?
I'll have to try riding there sometime. I'm a wuss and just stick to the Bosque. My pic is of the trail on the other side of the wall of my house, which isn't too far from Paseo. That part of the trail is at the Heritage Hills park, but it connects to a couple other parks too.
I took this the other day. We live about a mile from the beach and there is a trail down there the I run on. This was one of the first sunny days after a long streak of gray and drizzle.
We drove right by here on Saturday. Every time we go by I think about how nice it must be to live near that trail. My neighborhood is pretty nice to run in though, so I can't complain. Plus I have the golf course right down the street.

We live at the base of the trail, and I think it's one of the most valuable (to me) things about our area. 18 miles from my house to County Line & back. Perfect! Except for the hills!
Its a great city to be active, though. Lots of great places to run/ride.
Okay I am jealous as usual! You guys have some gorgeous locales.
I am grateful for our trail system though. We plan to move in a year or two, and I am hoping I can find a house somewhat close to the trails. It's invaluable and will be even more so when my LO's are older.
