They called my references on Thursday & called me on Friday. The good news is that they want to offer me the job. The bad news is that the state is requiring a reference from a supervisor (apparently HR is not enough). Unfortunately, my previous supervisor (my predecessor) is deceased. We are hoping that will help give me "special circumstances" so I don't have to use a reference from 8-10 years ago (I will not be using my current boss for obvious reasons).
If everything goes through, I should have a job offer within the next 2 weeks & hopefully starting at the beginning of April. It all seems surreal & since it is not at all concrete yet, I am so nervous.

Passed background check... now just waiting for them to approve the "payroll justification." Could be days, a week or a month (from what I've heard). PLEASE, don't be a month =(
NYay, getting closer!! What's a payroll justification??
No idea what it exactly entails...but since it is a large increase from my current salary, they said it could take a bit longer than usual. I think basically it is the state OK'ing the amount of $ they want to offer me.
