Last night: chicken/lettuce recipe posted on h&f and a baked apple with very few raisins. I did put a dollop of truwhip in it (wholefoods whipped cream) which isn't paleo.
Breakfast: egg and sausage with a tiny bit of ketchup. Coffee and creamer and yes...splenda.
I lifted and walked home from the gym (3 miles)
Snack: Almonds. Prob too many. Small banana.
Lunch: green salad with chicken and strawberries. I was not hungry at all. This was in Panera.
Snack: leftover chicken
Dinner: flank steak and paleo-recipe broccoli. I did marinate the steak from a bottle (low carbs) of Soy Vay.
I would add a little fat in - I eat A LOT of avocado. A LOT. That may help your hunger. You probably know this, but I would watch the amount of almonds and bananas have a lot of natural sugar in it.
There are others that are much more knowledgable that can give you more advice.
I'm just learning about this myself, but from what I've read, aren't you supposed to not consume dairy (whip and creamer) and sugar (marinade, ketchup, Splenda)? Otherwise, it looks similar to what I'm hoping to shoot for but probably with some more (healthy) fats.
I think non-dairy creamer is ok. I had a paleo marinade but crapped out - I'll try it next time. I think I am supposed to avoid butter which I fucked up as well.
Seriously this is hard! Well, yes and no. I was less hungry. But I worry less than perfect is going to screw it up. I'm also unsure of portion...so unsure.
I had a banging non-sugar headache and CRASHED at 4pm...zzzz on the couch while DS watched Pocoyo.
I think you did great! I think when you are first starting just eliminating grains and legumes is a huge step. I've been doing this for 4 years now and I am still learning what works best for me.
Just a few things to add, mostly related to my own experience, about getting though the beginning stages if you decide to do it gradually instead of whole30.
I didn't worry about condiments for a long time, though I did try to get quality ones (no HFCS, organic, etc.). Others can disagree, but I needed to keep them in order to keep eating the food I was eating. I also still use butter (we are more primal though). It is mostly fat and you can always cut it out later if you want to go completely dairy free. Kerrygold is a good brand. I would replace the truwhip and creamer with coconut creamer or real whipping cream though. Also, you probably already know it, but Soy Vay is not paleo. Coconut aminos are a good substitute.
While you don't want to eat too many nuts because of the omega 6s, they are an easy snack and I didn't limit myself too much in the beginning. They helped keep me on track which was more important.
Eat plenty of fat. It keeps you full and as your body becomes fat adapted, it will be where you get your energy.
Keep asking questions, I want you to have as good of an experience as I have with it. For me it was a life changer.

I have learned to love my coffee unsweetened, but it took time choking it down to get there. Also don't over think the portion sizes. Just eat paleo foods when you're hungry and stop when you're full. I typically try to include a protein, fat and carb in my meals and snacks. It seems like you already know what to fix because you critiqued your own food in your OP
