There was a post about them yesterday, recommending the 2" canopy blinds. I'd love to install those, but our windows will require inside mount (because of the mouldings) and do not have a lot of clearance in the inside mount - 1", to be exact.
Would you install mini-blinds in this situation, or would you look into roller shades, roman shades, or something else entirely?
We have 2" blinds and they stick out a bit, but I don't care. They look so much better than the mini blinds that were there before. And once we put the panels up, you can't tell that much.
It drives me nuts when things stick put from the windows, so I'd go with something smaller. I'm not a huge fan of mini blinds because I've seen so many crappy ones, so I'd probably do cellular shades or rollers. Rollers would suit your house better, I think. And possibly your more casual style. But I do like the fact that cellular shades can be top down/bottom up for privacy while still allowing some sunshine in.
This is exactly where I am. I'm hesitant to spend money on mini-blinds because I think they look cheap. We already have them in every window except the three in our bedroom, so that's actually where I'm starting with window treatments ... I was thinking a roller blind would also look cheap, though. Argh.
