My older two kids (5 and 4) never had any issues with immunizations at all, aside from some crankiness and maybe a low grade fever. DD#3 is a year old, and had her first MMR and varicella vaccines yesterday. She seemed fine most of the day after and I gave her some ibuprofen when I thought she was getting cranky. At 12:20am, I woke up and she felt warm so I took her temp and it was 99.4. About ten minutes later she had a febrile seizure. She has had one before when she had hand foot and mouth disease at nine months old. My four year old son also has a history of febrile seizures. I didn't think much of the seizure at 1220am because I assumed it was just her fever. She ended up having another seizure this afternoon around 1:30pm (I took her temp right before and it was 98.6) , and another one about ten minutes later. I rushed her to the urgent care since I called the pediatrician and they said they wouldn't get to see until 4pm. While there, she had another seizure, and her temp spiked to 104.5. The urgent care staff called an ambulance and had them bring us to the ER, where they did blood tests and nothing out of the ordinary there, so they assume that it was just due to her vaccines. We were discharged and told to keep up with her motrin and tylonel
I'm not sure what to do now. Do I hold off on her other MMR/varicella vaccinations? Has anyone else had issues with vaccinations?

How scary!! Definitely follow up with your pediatrician. Don't google. It will just give you a million scary stories with self-diagnosis that are only half true at best.
The second round of MMR and varicella isn't until 4 or 5 so you have time to decide. I hope your LO bounced back quickly.

I am so sorry. My son has febrile seizures --they are awful. I would be concerned about the three in such a short period and would want to follow-up with her doctor. I would also switch to one vaccine at a time and only when there are no signs of illness.

What a horrible situation!
We didn't have that severe of a reaction to MMR/chicken pox vax, but we did have a pretty bad reaction. Both kids got high fevers a few days later, and then broke out in chicken pox, particularly all over their face. A few days later, DH's fever spiked, and he broke out in chicken pox, despite the fact that he already had chicken pox as a kid. And then after that, MIL (who helped us take care of the kids when they were sick) got chicken pox. She also already had chicken pox as a kid and was a school teacher for 30 years, so she had lots of exposure to chicken pox. Somehow she still got it. Both DH and MIL were quite sick.
I was the only one who came in contact with them who didn't get chicken pox (but I did get a cold sore on my lip, which is a related virus to chicken pox, and I've never had one before). It's weird b/c I only had a VERY mild case of cpox as a kid, so I thought for sure I'd get them too.
Because of all these bad reactions, we'll weighing whether we'll give the kids the follow-up vax in a few years.
Definitely talk with your pedi. My DH had absolutely awful reactions to vaccines growing up, and his pedi was able to come up with a plan that worked for him and his family.
