When I stained our back doors, I taped it off, but then some stain got beyond the tape. I asked Mr. Google and he said rubbing alcohol. I tried it and it removed the larger thinner areas, but not the thin little thick line that was right next to the tape. He also said WD-40 or acetone? Anyone have any experience or other suggestions?
I've had luck with cooking oil getting things off of glass mirrors, WD-40 is fish oil so similar concept. I spray painted a mirror and had a spot that I missed with taping so it had 4 coats of espresso spray paint that dried for 2 weeks on it. Soaked a nail pad in cooking oil, let it sit, and then scrubbed a bit and it came right up. Also works great to get the paint off your hands.
