The developer is getting ready to open the final phase in our development. It's right behind our house. They had a crew in here last week ripping out a bunch of brush and a couple of trees. They're usually great about leaving trees, but the land will need to be regraded entirely, and there's nothing that could be saved. I'm kind of sad to see them go, but this phase was suppose to start 14 years ago. I'd rather have neighbors than a big muddy field.
The neighborhood facebook page is blowing up. People are saying how outraged they are. "Why didn't they tell me?" "I'm moving!" "It's so ugly now!" "Thanks a lot, without the trees there's a river in my backyard!" <--- This one is my favorite. It's a puddle, and it couldn't possibly have anything to do with having 6" of snow melt plus a bunch of rain on top of that within the last week, could it? zomg, LOGIC?!
It's funny. All the people complaining built their homes within the last 5 years. Did they think their lots were just perfectly level, treeless dirt pits with sewer and water hookups just waiting for them to build on?

Total NIMBY (not in my back yard) attitude. I hate that. People always want to move some where and close the door behind them. Ridiculous. You are so tight with your lady sentence.
ETA: I HAVE to turn off autocorrect. Haha! "You are so right with your last sentence."

Yes, I'm pretty sure the dinosaurs set that up a long, long time ago. How thoughtful of them.

Ha. Yes, it's always interesting to see people with their heads up their asses. I've seen people complaining (in real life, not even behind a computer) that Westar is trimming trees funny. Um, they are trimming them so they don't interfere with the power lines in the event that we have another ice storm. If they didn't, you'd bitch about not having power because the trees fell on the power lines.

Dude, if I didn't know where you were located, I'd ask if you lived next door to my mother. She can't STAND the way the power company trims trees. "They're killing the trees!" Admittedly, they are. Our power company literally just hacks half the tree off. But she doesn't seem to want to trim them herself to prevent their doing it, so she's invalidated her right to complain.

The power company butchers our trees too.
I might be making this up, but when DHs cousins visited from Italy they could not believe how ugly our power lines are in the states. I guess they bury them there. I've been to Italy 3 times, but can't remember if that it true or not.
Sidenote: they were also obsessed with squirrels. I guess they don't have them in Europe? They kept calling them beavers though. It was hilarous.

Usually my autocorrect just changes "of" to "if". Drives me insane.
The tight lady about killed me though. I need to proofread my posts! I am going to start calling people tight though, I like it. My new haircut is going to be tight.
