Mine is during 530-7 pm, I don't even try to go during those times. During the day its much better, but starting to get busy in the mornings. It doesn't seem to matter how the weather is, just always busy during those times.
I am the luckiest girl in the world in this respect.
I work out at work, and there just happens to be a tiny little gym in the basement a nearby building on campus. It's not the greatest gym in the world, but it has the basics and 99% of the time I have it to myself, maybe with one other lady walking on the treadmill.
My noon yoga class is oft crowded (also at work), but you have to reserve a bike for spin (at work as well) so I just make sure to call before the college students are up in the morning.
It depends on the day of the week. Mondays it's pretty crowded, but by Thursday it's pretty empty. Come Sunday there are about 5 people there. But I do go to a small gym (Fitness 19).
The free weights area at my gym gets pretty crowded. It's like neighborhood social hour in there all of the time. I enjoy listening to the (often entertaining, gossipy) conversations though, even if it means I have to throw some side-eyes to get to the equipment I need!
Depends on the time and the day. It seems that most people who go to my gym dont work (retirees and sahms), so its most crowded 9-11am. Luckily for me, its pretty empty after work.
Mine also depends on the time of day. I usually go on my lunch hour, around 1:30-2pm. It's never crowded, it's usually just me and the senior citizens! Now, if I come after work at like 5-6, then it's packed.
My gym is at a University, so right now its fairly dead because of spring break. During the regular weeks 4-5:30 is ridiculous because classes are over by then for the most part. Friday night and Saturday mornings are fairly dead because the students are partying and/or hungover. In the summer I feel like I have the whole building to myself.
Really depends time of day. at 5am, not too many people. Just the bodybuilder types and some serious people working out prior to work. After work its a completely different story though. Way too busy.
Not my current gym. It's huge though. I usually go over lunch, but the times I have gone after work I haven't had a problem finding what I need.
One of my biggest pet peeves was how busy LA Fitness was when I used to go after work. I had to wait for everything - lifting equipment and treadmills. Awful. I was so crabby.
We have a small gym in my work building and it's nearly empty every day at lunch. I am not sure why people don't take more advantage of it. It's free and all.
I have been avoiding the gym on evenings and weekends since Jan due to crowding. This Sat was the first time I went back on a Sat - it was not too bad. Now just need to get my evening routine started again.
My 5:45am spin class has be noticeably light for the past two weeks. I think Monday was the worst yet, but DST may have been a factor.
Mine is really crowded in the evenings, but if I'm just doing weights or working out with my trainer it's not noticeable. I typically take my classes at lunch the crowd depends on the coach (the famous one is usually in higher demand) and whether they've done a LivingSocial deal lately.
ETA: the muay thai classes are getting really popular because one of our coaches just got a contract with Glory which is a big deal in that world.
It got really crowded around New Years and hasn't really slowed down at all yet.
Same here. Although right now it's less resolutioners than in January. Sadly they have been replaced with roving packs of teenagers. It blows.
This. My gym is the Y and some of the school sports teams must subsidize team memberships, because they are everywhere. The full yoga classes are somewhat annoying. The late-comers who try to squeeze their mat into the 5 inch space between me and the next person. I don't need your bare feet that close to my head while I'm trying to relax in corpse pose!
I'm at the Y by 5:00 most mornings and it's not too busy. Occasionally the pool is crowded, but our favorite lifeguard always saves a lane for DH and me!
