I just got an invite that I can join up with Birchbox now, but I don't know if it's worth it (I remember someone posting about a similar thing with another company on Friday, and they liked it more). Thoughts?

I was a member for about six months. I loved getting the samples in the mail and I did discover some new products that I ended up buying full size versions of. I ended up canceling but I did enjoy it. Birchbox also has a system where you can leave reviews of the samples and earn points. These points give you money off your order--if you ever make one.

The excitement from getting the box is worth it, but the products aren't. I'm really not a big "product" person overall though so it's kind of expected.
Once the fun of opening the box wears off I'll cancel.
I've done it for 2 months so far and it's ok. I enjoy getting stuff in the mail, and so far I've liked at least a few of the samples so it makes it worthwhile. I may tire of it eventually but for $10 I figure why not.
Worth it to me - but I love products and am excited to be introduced to new things. Really worth it if you review and save up points, but I'm amazed at the number of people that don't review for points.

If you're looking for something that's not monthly, but has pretty awesome samples beautyfix.com is pretty great. They're technically quarterly, but you can pretty much order whenever from what I can tell. You get to choose your 8 samples and you get a makeup bag. It's $50, but they're all deluxe samples. In this case deluxe means full size or pretty close to it at least for the samples I chose. If you use code BFBLOG you get your first one for $20 and if you fill out 2 reviews you get $25 of a purchase of $50 or more at dermstore.com or blush.com (they're like two sites in one).
