I'm in the market for new shoes and will go to my LRS.... but my feet are weird- my 2nd & 3rd toes are longer than my big toe! I've noticed some calluses on them and I'm not sure if they're from my sneaks or my crocs I wear work. Any shoe recs??
I have a wide toe box and the guy at the running store put me in MEN'S pureconnects. They feel really good. This is my second pair and the first lasted a year. I run on a treadmill 3-5 times a week, usually 5-6 miles.
FWIW, I have longer middle toes and the toe next to my big one takes a beating no matter what shoe I'm in. I have bad callouses all over the top of it.
I run in Saucony because they have a nice wide toe box.
I've got weirdly long toes, and my second and third are the longest. I have never needed a wider toe box because of this, but I love my Mizunos because the toe box feels more flexible to me. I must be able to wiggle my freak show toes.
Thx my freaky toe friends... lol! I just wanted a place to start. To make it more fun I actually have skinny feet sometimes needing a narrow shoe. I think it's just the shape of the toe box... like if it's "shaped" more it doesn't work. Including my stupid crocs. I had to size up in those too!
I also enjoy when my freak toes hang over the front of my sandals... hee hee!
My Brooks Ghosts and Saucony Triumphs have a much wider toe box than my Mizuno Wave Riders or Mizuno Wave Creations. I sound like a shoe schitzofrenic, I just haven't fallen in love with a shoe in a while. These are all neutral shoes, so this feedback might be totally useless.

I have a similar issue - long toes and narrow feet. I wear Brooks Adrenalines in a narrow width and they work really well for me. I order them half a size up.

Try the Brooks Launch when it comes back out next month. They're light weight, neutral, 10mm drop, awesome.
I have the same toe problem (apparently it's pretty common - on these boards at least!) except my 2nd, 3rd and 4th toes are ALL longer than my big toe. The 2nd and 3rd are SIGNIFICANTLY longer, actually. Peep toes are a disaster I run in Asaics Kayanos and love them - they run pretty narrow but have kind of a pointy toe, so the longest part is in the middle. On a side note, I also love them because the laces are just slightly off-center, so they don't irritate the top of my feet. My backup running shoes are New Balance and one of the reasons I don't love them as much is because the toe box is actually TOO wide. All of my Sauconys have wide toe boxes too, but neither are regular running shoes, so I'm not sure how they typically run.
'Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather, to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, screaming 'Woohoo! What a ride!' So every day is a holiday and every meal a feast."

this exactly! i have narrow feet but long toes and weirdly wide toes compared to the rest of my feet and i love brooks - adrenalines and ravennas work well. avoid asics. i learned that the hard way...a few times.
