I just did my first morning run today... in 40º and rain at 5am. Ew. But I'm happy to be sitting my ass on the couch right now! It wasn't that bad, honestly!
I need to switch back to mornings also. I did it for the last two weeks because my schedule forced me to. I know that I should keep it up. DST is not helping with the waking up early thing. I hate waking up in the dark.

This is the feeling that I am looking forward to tomorrow night.

I have been contemplating it for a while now, but the thought of getting up at 4:45 and running in complete darkness seems daunting. Maybe it will be less so if it was 50* instead of 30.
What do your evenings look like that running after work is hard? I have contemplated switchng to morning runs, but during the week, I like my sleep better On the weekends, I almost always get up early to run though, which is strange.
I hate mornings! I refuse. My workouts always suck in the morning. I am at work by 7, so I would have to get up by 4 to get it done. Nope.
What about lunch time? It's been working for me a few times a week. Granted, I don't have time for 90 minute long runs, but I do have time to do 3-4 miles and/or lifting.

There is NO WAY I could run over lunch and not do a full shower. I am a sweaty beast.
My pace for 3mi this morning was within a few seconds of my pace for 10mi on Saturday and I really had to struggle to even maintain that. :-\
This is why I have always been an evening workout person, that is when I have all of my energy. This sucks.
Yeah, that happened to me. I blamed it on the cold weather. ;-)
I did it for a week and while getting up was really rough and only got worse as the week went by, I did love the feeling of accomplishment! Then I got sick and then DST so I hope to get back to doing it next week because as cruel as it was, it really did make my day better. I do save everything else for PM.
Plus, if I start it now, hopefully summer runs will be easier to maintain since I'll be used to waking up early.

That's what always happened to me! So discouraging.
And to piggyback on your sweaty beast thing...that is me too. Another problem I had with morning workouts. I wouldn't stop sweating for a good 15 minutes, so I was always running late.
For my lunch workouts now, the best set up is when I can run outside. It's cold enough that I don't sweat as much, so the shower will "take" if you will. When summer rolls around, I am not sure what I am going to do yet. I sweat way too much.
I don't have convenient shower facilities, either. Plus I live on the surface of the sun (NM) and there is no damn way I am going to be out there in the middle of the day. I will burst into flames.
I am going to give it another couple of weeks and hopefully adjust. I do have to say that it was a nice feeling to have both of my workouts (running and lifting) done before 8:30.
Just know that when you are dragging yourself out of bed at 6:30, I have already dragged myself out of bed at 4:30 and finished my run or swim for the morning. I would LOVE to sleep until 6:30!

Well, that's just a regular morning, I have to get up at 5-5:30 if I am going to run.

As long as I eat a half a banana I'm good. I have more energy in the morning and am less likely to flake on going. If I wait until it gets too late I tend to talk myself out of it.

I usually run after work during the week. I went to bed early last night with the intentions of getting up early for a run in the morning. When the alarm went off, I pictured myself getting up and getting dressed for the run. It seemed so real, I actually thought I really did get up. Until the alarm went off again and I realized I snoozed through my window of opportunity. I am going to try again tomorrow!

zoidberg after many crappy morning runs, this morning my body finally submitted to running fast in the morning. I may have finally adapted and you can too.

Good to hear! I am definitely going to keep trying because the convenience is so nice. Especially since I am about to take up swimming (in hopes of doing a tri) and I will need to do that after work.

Say whaaaaa?!?! This is great! This is such a great triathlon city! I'm no expert, but if you need any advice or have any questions, please feel free to ask. coconutbug has a wealth of knowledge and is local, too. I think she agrees with me that Chasing 3 is the best production company around, so definitely see if one of their races fits in to your schedule!
