I am so partial to that general color family that I don't think I can give an objective opinion. But I do like it. I am not sure it's bright enough for the swimmer art though (that is a swimmer, right?).
also - lol at the idea of repainting a room because the paint doesn't read well in photos. I have paint colors that I feel the same way about, but I'm pretty confident that a better solution would be to get better behind the lens, not repaint.
I love it. I love how it ties into the blue that's in the panels in the adjoining room...and I adore how they have a chair and ottoman in the corner of the kitchen. I would so be drinking my coffee and reading the paper in that corner.

Put me in the much better camp.
I also think between this color and the board and batten they are making some more traditional design choice (as opposed to hyper color box trying to Modern choices), which IMO suits the architecture of the house. Let's hope they keep trending in this direction.
*Also, how many of us here said time and time again that they needed a different color on the walls? If you live off your blog and can only convey neon colors, then get better at Photoshop or repaint. I'm actually happy they repainted.

Definite improvement. And I agree with you, Susie, about the painting. It's like the paint needs to either be lighter or bolder to really make it fit. But I think I'd just move the painting vs painting again because the color is really not bad at all.
I think replacing that basket thing on their fixture by the fireplace and removing some of the neon yellow crap will help too. I know they've been harped on for being too bland and maybe that's why they went so far to the other end of the color spectrum, but I think now that they fixed the color, the yellow is distracting.
Whoever buys this house should start their own blog fixing the whacko decisions. Now that they have a decent color on the walls, I can't stop staring at the orange chairs and vast mass of unbroken deep mocha cork. I'm biased against dark floors and I think that they should put in wood floors that were matched to those in the living room.
And yeah, I don't think they painted because it didn't photograph well; it turned out to be a fugly color in there and they didn't want to admit it. But I do like this much better.
ETA: There is a lot of speculation on GOMI that they are getting ready to put the house on the market. If so, this decision may have had something to do with that.
I like the color better than the previous one, but I still don't think it is a right fit at all for the room. This color reads shabby chic / traditional / country to me. It is calm, and pretty, and serene. None of those descriptors fit this room.
I like the "grellow" (what colours were they combining there?) for the laundry room, but laundry rooms are the one place that bright, funky colours are wildy accepted.
I know neutrals with pops of colour can be cliche, but for the majority of people its the right choice, yhl included. They are headed in a much better direction if they keep up their recent trends.
I really like the new color, but I can't help but to have noticed lately how poor their pictures are. I know it's difficult to shoot when there are a lot of windows, but I feel like it's what they're getting paid to do, so they should be better at it.
Now the most glaring issue for me continues to be those stupid bar stools that look like what friends of mine had in their basement rec room in the 80s. Not long enough ago to be cool guys, sorry.
It's pretty, but "safe". I think it is kind of boring though. It doesn't go with the fun, colorful vibe that they wanted for their house, but then, they don't really know how to do color, do they?
When did they change the bar stools? They aren't great, but they are better than the cheapo lab seating.
I like it and its a major improvement but it absolutely does not match the penny tile. Like not at all. Like clash city. That wall next to the penny tile should be white.
I like the color much more, but I still hate so much like those floors, the weird basket light fixture, bar stools, the cabinets with their hinges showing, the countertop, lol ok that list is long.
