I use a blow dryer. I use it to damp dry before I use my wet to straight flat iron. I also use the blow dryer to blow dry it straight using a round brush which gives the ends a curved in look. I have a diffuser but I used it once and I am not sure if it made a difference for my hair. It probably helps prevent fly aways if I were to use it to dry my hair curly. Usually when I want to wear my hair curly, I let it dry naturally. Blow drying it makes a big poof of curls with lots of volume. DH calls me scary spice when I do that! So I stopped doing that. Hehehe! Also flipping my hair also causes this volume to go up so I don't do that. I think my hair dryer is a Revlon.
I do not. I let my hair air dry naturally every day. Heat and blow drying pulls out my curl, even with a diffuser. Plus I have very thick hair so blow drying just adds a ton of volume that I don't need
I always blow dry. I use a diffuser (just the one that came with my dryer) and I do put my head down and blow dry my hair upside down. it definitely makes it big but it calms down before I leave the house.
Most of the time I just let my hair air dry when I leave it curly. Once in awhile, I'll use a diffuser, and when I do, I flip my hair upside down. It does make my already big hair bigger, but I spritz my hair with a little water and lightly scrunch with my hand, and it calms it down a little.
I don't. I've noticed that if I don't comb/brush it after I wash it, it is really, really curly. Does shampoo take the curls out of your hair, like it does to me? It does not matter which kind/brand I use. If I just wet my hair or use conditioner, it's very curly.
I don't have tight spiral curls unless I coax them with a curl cream and a diffuser (whatever came with my Revlon dryer from WM, sooo not high tech about it lol). My natural texture is hot roller type curls and that I just regular blow dry upside down without a diffuser.
Thanks! I've used organix, biolage and l'oreal sulfate free and they all have the same effect. It could be that I'm 41. It seems like I have ringlets one day and the next...I don't.

I don't either since it also makes my hair frizzy. It is highly possible that it's just because I have a cheap dryer. My hair is very thin & fine, although most wouldn't think so because it's curly. It turns into a frizz puff if I blow dry.
I do. I use a big bowl-shaped diffuser, like this:
I let my hair air dry for about 10 minutes while I get dressed and do my makeup, then blow it all the way dry. I have really thick hair and springy curls, so if I blow dry upside down my hair gets huge. I just put chunks of hair into the diffuser on high heat, low blower setting and work from the front ot the back.

Some of these may actually still have sulfates. I know the loreal one does for sure. If the ingredients list anything with "ate" at the end, you may want to look for something new that is truly sulfate free. I like Nature's Gate shampoo.
Thanks. A couple of years ago, I bought two and got two free of biolage, at Ulta. I gave two to my mom and kept two. Would you believe I still have both bottles left? It takes forever to finish, especially when you only wash your hair 2-3 times a week. Since, I hate to waste, I will try some of the ones you guys mentioned, when I finish.
