I'm having dinner with 6 other runners on Saturday before our St. Patrick's Day half in NYC on Sunday. I decided it would be fun to make a little something for each person. I crafted the following bags and "stuff".
Contents:
-Water bottle -Aleve 6 pack (note says the Irish Proverb "May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back." -Throw away gloves for start/first few miles -PowerBars; Cranberry Oatmeal Cookie and Roasted Peanut Butter -Hand sanitizer
Not pictured:
-"Gold" chocolate coins -Powerade single mixers
What do you think? What else would you add? And THANK YOU to all of the gals who gave great suggestions before. I want it to be fun, but useful (at some point... not necessarily race day). I feel like this would be perfect except the bag is too big, lol! It makes the contents look so small...
Good call on the chapstick! Damnit, I knew I forgot something.
I have fun tissue paper, but any other ideas to "bulk it up"??
Or to keep it green, you could use that grass that they sell for Easter baskets? Or maybe that's too Eastery. Maybe you should put in a post-race Irish-themed beer.
What about a St. Patrick's Day button or sticker they can put on their shirt the day of? Gu or sports beans, a green headband, not sure how easy it would be to transport bananas, but they would bulk up the bag.
Can you be my running friend:). This is such a cool idea,
I want to run races with you!!! That is so sweet of you.
I don't think you need to add anything, but if you want to I think the Guiness is a good idea. Also, Chapstick, sunblock stick/sample, small Vaseline, or more snacks are all good options IMO.

I love the idea of chapstick and Guiness. I know you have a couple of bars but a small bag of trail mix is a good snack and would also bulk up the bag a bit. What about a tube of Nuun tabs?
I'm probably not going to throw anything "wearable" in since we made tech shirts, lol. Overboard much? Here is the mock-up.
"AD"letes because we're marketing/advertising people. Nerds.
Ok, so I'm going to add some chapstick, beer, and LOVE the idea of a mini tissue pack. Maybe some extra snacks too... fruit snacks? I like Easter grass for a holiday colored bulk up too. You gals are the best! Thanks so much!
And if we ever do a H&F race/run meetup I will make bags for all who can attend!
