I always vote for edible favors. Could you do cookies or a small bag of M&Ms or other candy in the theme colours?
Me too. I think little trinkets sometimes don't get the appreciation they might deserve.
My vote would be for themed cookies or cake pops. For my baby shower we did cake pops with pink drizzle and pink bows since I was having a girl. I also like the M&M idea.
I guess it depends on who your guests are. If I were throwing the bridal shower for my friends with a nautical theme, I would probably make little "cocktail gift bags." I'd pick a simple and thematic drink, probably more than one for some variation, and throw together a little gift bag with the ingredients, tie it up with a ribbon, and include a cute tag with the recipe. For instance, a Cape Cod only has vodka and cranberry juice. Throw a mini-bottle of vodka and a small can of juice in a cellophane bag, tie it up with raffia, make a cute tag with a lighthouse on the front and put the drink recipe on the back. Or a Lifesaver, with Midori, rum, and pineapple juice and a tag of one of those life rings. BUT, that's what would go over well with my circle of friends.
Baby showers are always a bit harder, in my opinion. This one even more so because the theme is so open to interpretation. I tend to fall back on beauty products for ideas. Something like this could be cute and effective-
Or something like this (although I find the tags to be ugly and cheesy) -
I was thinking a drink idea for the nautical theme but couldn't figure out how to do it. I like the vodka nip and a juice but maybe a single champagne bottle would be cheaper?
