About Nolan's Birthday (it's Tuesday 4/2). Since I work in Sales, I usually have Mondays off with both boys. So instead of being off Monday and working Tuesday the week of N's birthday, my boss let me switch so I can be at home with N on his birthday. For all of Adam's birthdays I always did this and we would have a special day together (since DH can NOT take off weekday time). So this year, I am leaning towards sending Adam to school and just having a special day with Nolan, mostly because he deserves some one on on time with me, and also becasue it is almost impossible for me to take the kids anywhere when it's just me and them, it stresses me out. I was thinking of taking N to a local kids museum or play area.
I hate mom guilt, I keep feeling like I should bring Adam with us, but I know that without DH there to divide and conquer, I will lose my mind when they run off in different directions.
I think since Adam got one on one time with you for all his birthdays so far, it's completely understandable for you to do the same thing for Nolan. My mom used to send one of us to the grandparents so she could spend our birthday with us, just the two of us.

I never knew it was a thing to take off work on your kids birthday. But most people I know do it. Maybe I had shitty parents.
I don't think it's a thing. I honestly would not be able to do this if I did not have the Sales job that I have now. I have to take a week day off so it might as well be his birthday, that week. If I worked Mon-Fri I would not do this unless I had uber amounts of extra time to take off. This is one of the very few perks of my shitty work schedule.

I never ever get one on one time with each of my sons, so the thought of this really excites me!!!!!!!!! I would probably pick up Adam earlier than usual, just because.

I think it's perfectly okay to take Nolan out by himself! Think of it as equivalent to the nice swimming day you had with Adam a few weeks ago. They both would love mommy all to themselves, and if Adam's at school, he'll be none the wiser, you know? No guilt, momma! I'm glad you can get a chance to do it, and you'll feel so good afterwards!

Thanks ladies!! I am so excited to spend a day just with Nolan. I LOVE LOVE LOVE having 2 kiddos, but there are days where I miss being able to have so much one on one time with each child. This will be so much fun, hopefully he is fully walking by then so he can toddle around somewhere
