This is part vent and is prob flameful but tonight we have a team builder for work in the north end, it's a dinner at 7 at Lucca. I have zero interest and don't want to go. It is starting too late, everyone else lives close by and is going home first but I don't have time to drive out to the burbs and back, I am usually asleep by 9 (how lame am I?), and there is no great place for me to park my SUV.
Am I a brat because I don't want to go? Also what should I do to waste time until the dinner, cause I don't want to just stay working late since I do that enough anyways.
Flamefuls - I just started reading this trashy book and want to head home so I can read more, I'm kind of hooked.
Random - I'm trying to pick out welcome bags for the wedding, I'm on this site that sells like a million bags in bulk and can't decide what the hell to get. Any suggestions on what you ladies would want to receive?

Go shopping? Copley, Downtown, Fanueil Hall.
I wouldn't want to go either. Team building events should be during work hours. /gavel
Agreed, that is annoying, I wouldn't want to go either. I like Rock's idea of shopping.

I have a flameful: there are several vegetarians here this week, from one specific, highly vegetarian country. They have complained every. fucking. day. about the food. To my staff, to me, to other participants, to our caterers. The problem is not that they aren't getting vegetarian food, it's that they don't like it. I am this close to saying, "If I went to your country, I wouldn't order a fuckin steak. So shut up." We're having a clambake tonight, and they're getting veggie burgers. One of my staff members asked if we should switch it to something they'd like better, and I said no, (even though the caterers probably would have done it). Because fuck them.
Also, I went home last night and got a bacon cheeseburger, the least vegetarian meal I could think of.
Also-also, my husband figured out last night that the faculty chair has the same last name as a recent Batman villain. So all last night he kept talking in that voice, and saying things like, "you will endure, vegetarians." And "(Nationality) take back your cafeteria!" And now that's all I can think of when I see any of them. heh.

You ladies are right. Shopping it is. But really, a happy hour close by to the office would have been great, there is no reason to make work last from 7am to 11pm today. Ah. I will be useless at work tomorrow.

When we did welcome bags for our wedding I put everything in nice medium size brown bags with handles. It was cheaper and I didn't think anyone would use the cheapo beach bag if I bought them. I added personalized tags and ribbon. Let me see if I can find a pic for you...
VT- found it! Here is a pic our photog took of our welcome bags:
Oooh pretty, love them!! Looks like you used aqua too which is what we're using. What did you put in your bags?
We had personalized coozies, hand sanitizer, water bottles, mini key line tarts, info on when/where all the events were, and these personalized maps so people knew where everything was being held:

I am that the Philly airport and my flight doesn't leave for another 2.5 hours. I am BORED. I did download all of season 1 of breaking bad onto my iPhone, though, to watch on the flgiht. that is just over six hours of programming. I hope my iPhone can hold a charge that long.....

So I had a checkup this morning and my pcp tells me he wants me to see my gastro guy. I say "Okay, I'll call him." So I'm sitting here at the computer this afternoon thinking to myself, "I wonder how long I'll procrastinate calling gastro guy" when the phone rings. It's gastro guy's office, saying "Yeah, your pcp said you'd probably procrastinate calling, and asked us to call you directly." I have an appt April 4. Gah.

My parents are visiting this week. We spent today walking about half of the Freedom Trail and exploring Boston. I am so glad that they are here, but I am stressed about my upcoming exam since I have not been able to study.
Also, I dipped my toes in the dating pool and am really enjoying it.
Vent: My team needs to get a HUGE report out to our customer by next week (it's the results from two years worth of testing on a multimillion dollar system). We've been working on analyzing data and writing it for 2 months now. I've been working 12 hours days all week. Tomorrow is an "off-Friday" for my company and I have to go in and work all day. I'll be working Saturday too if we're not done. It sucks. I just want sleep in!
AW: I emailed DH from work around 7pm telling him I wouldn't be home until ~8:30 and mentioned I wanted to make cookies tonight to share with everyone who's coming in tomorrow. I got home to find cookies baking in the oven. He's the best!

FD- So happy to hear about the dating pool!! Keep us updated if there are any great (or crazy!!!) dates.
Thanks! I went on a date with a guy that would not stop talking about himself. I realized after I left that he did not ask me a single question. Unbelievable. I have also gone on a few dates with someone very promising. We will see where it goes!

You guys, one of my BFF's has a daughter who turns 16 today. SIXTEEN. She is now two years older than her mom was when we met. I feel sooooo old right now.
