katfco--You're on! This will be much trickier for me! I've never lived there
Unfortunately, having lived in China only helped me with the few countries I've been to. The map messed me up at first because I kept looking for Tibet! I know it's not it's own country, but it really seemed that way when we were there and I'm used to it being highlighted on maps.
Now, if we all wanted to be sadists katfcoAndyCohen we would try Australia and Oceania!
46! And the only reason I did that well was because I tried to pay attention when they gave me multiple tries. Maybe we should try Europe for an easier challenge.
I really, really suck at it. I have spatial reasoning issues - I blame that. I still remember 7th grade geography class - the final exam was filling in a map of the world. I got a D. Not good.
Depends on where it is. I know where the states are and I know the geography of Europe pretty well. But the geography of New Jersey, where I grew up, baffles me.

I am very good at US geography and better than OK but certainly not great at international geography. For example, I know that Dover is in England but often forget in what part of the country; I know where Qatar is and know its capitol but cannot locate Doha on a map of the country.
Okay I love geography. I ordered this awesome personalized map of the world that hangs in our living room that has "Creamsicle Family Travels" at the bottom, and it comes with all these color coded pins in it so that you can put in where you've visted, your genealogical roots, location of friends and family, planned vacations, and dream vacations. We have fun switching it from time to time. I can't wait until A and new baby are big enough so they can help put the pins in!
/nerd.
I have the same one. Except it says M & D's World Domination Map. So maybe I am an even bigger nerd

My friend actually though that Alaska was an island near Hawaii because that's usually where they put Alaska when they show pics of the US.
Her mind was blown when I told her Alaska was up near Canada and then was all "how can Hawaii be warm and tropical but Alaska be frigid and snowy yet they are right next to each other??What the hell is wrong with you!"
Yea. She's a teacher too. Thankfully she does not teach geography.

Gosh, you just keep coming up with reasons for me to love you more every day!
