I got a 142 on the US one. I guess my 4th grade geography champion days are over...haha. Asia and African are the two continents that I usually mess up more with.
Wow, I can't believe the scores some of you guys got! I'm impressed. My score was embarrassing - a 91. But, hey, I prefaced the thread by owning my suckiness at geography. Point proven.
My friend actually though that Alaska was an island near Hawaii because that's usually where they put Alaska when they show pics of the US.
Her mind was blown when I told her Alaska was up near Canada and then was all "how can Hawaii be warm and tropical but Alaska be frigid and snowy yet they are right next to each other??What the hell is wrong with you!"
Yea. She's a teacher too. Thankfully she does not teach geography.
Look, I thought this same thing until 10th grade when a teacher corrected me. I think it makes sense. That's where it always is shown on our maps! Also I rationalized it that Alaska was closer to Antarctica, therefore colder.
