Its been bothering me for a few weeks, rest/ice/ibuprofen isnt helping much. Its a pain in a weird place, and its only when i run. It was time to see a dr.
So yeah, im now sitting in a waiting room for an xray, also ill get an mri once its authorized, to rule out a stress fracture, and see if theres muscle damage. It doesnt feel liie its a stress fracture, but i dont know wuat that feels like (im just guessing). So...if youve had a sf, what did it feel like? Also, send me good thoughts that its not, please.
I have a stress fracture right now. It didn't hurt except when I ran (with the exception of the first few days of onset b/c I rested completely for 2 weeks). The pain got worse as I ran to the point I was limping after runs.
It hurt to push on the SFX site of my foot, but it was hard to find.
I hope it's not a SFX, but honestly, if you are anything like me, it's better to know b/c you will probably take better care of it in that care.
I've had one in my ankle, and it hurt to press on it, or to subject it to impact (like running). It hurt in an odd way. The closest analogy I can think of is if you've ever had tooth sensitivity or a cavity, and then add some ache.
Thanks everyone, i hope its not either, the dr didnt say anything that made me think th at he thought it was, just that he wanted to rule it out (...yeah, i know, makes no sense...but im anxious let me not make sense lol). Its not tender to the touch (though the stick hurts the muscle in a good way, he told me to keep using the stick), it only hurts when i run, but feels better the second i stop, no residual pain. The pain sort of moves, but its mostly along my calf muscle, towards the back.
