Haven't done it yet. Probs will later this week. I ripped BOTH hands somehow on Sunday (by somehow, I mean doing tons of pullups) and they're still healing. Rebounding box jumps is one of my stronger movements, so I'm excited to see how this one goes.
Also, I watched it live and got really mad. I feel like Annie didn't lock out at the top of her shoulder-to-overheads OR on her deadlifts. I realize my judgment could be clouded by my love of Lindsey Valenzuela.
I did it & sucked. I got 5+25 which is 175 reps. A few weeks ago I ripped open my shins coming off a box jump & I was skittish today. I stepped down off every BJ which undoubtedly cost me a lot of time. I'll probably re-do this weekend.
My goal was 180 and I got 195. For 13.1 I did half of what Annie did, so now my goal is to always do half of what she does. Of course, once they put pull-ups or toes to bar in an open WOD I am toast with that goal - lol!
I found out two days ago that I am pregnant (we have no real idea how far along - 4-7 weeks???, won't know til the end of next week after my first U/S). Now I am worried about the intensity of my workouts - I was on the floor sucking air at the end - probably not great for 1st tri???
We did step-ups, not box ups (essentially the whole box), it is admittedly dirty crossfit but it meets the rules laid out for the open and saves your lungs - but only a bit, my muscles were fine, my lungs were done.
Not doing it again Sunday, I am happy with 195. One of my friends on FB beat Julie Foucher's reps? DH didn't do it today because he was hung over (it's March break, he doesn't get drunk in the middle of the week as a habit)...so he goes Sunday. I will post a pic here when I have one, he is just uploading them to FB now.

That's a great score! Generally OB's say you are able to keep up with what you were doing before pregnancy, but if you feel off scale it back a bit.
Was your friend stepping down? Julie lost some times by stepping instead of rebounding. (Not to say that your friend isn't a bad ass.)

I have no idea what she did. I just saw that someone posted on her wall that she beat Foucher's score (she is an actual friend but lives OOT, she does CF at a different box). She hasn't submitted her scores on the leaderboard yet either.
Unrelated note: we joined our box in January - I laugh at how many new FB friends I have now...so weird, especially since I often see my CF friends more times in a week than many of my other friends.

It really is a great little family. We moved out of state & are now CF out of our garage gym & I miss my CF family in CA.

High rep box jumps can be really dangerous, a lot of CrossFitters have ruptured their Achilles tendons doing them, I think something like 100 cases were reported in the 2011 open. I forget, I read the article earlier. Julie is a med student, she knows the dangers so she stepped down to save her Achilles. Or so I read.
katietornado - I thought the same thing!! It really didn't look like she was locking out, I was kind of focusing on her elbows during the shoulders to overhead haha. Did you see after this one Lindsay is in second?! I am not ashamed to admit I got a little teary eyed from being so inspired when they showed her montage lol.

Julie is recovering from a bruised Achilles so that was probably another consideration in her stepping down vs. jumping.
Now that I've watched Annie I agree w/ you ladies (and my FB was blowing up over it). Hrm.

That's a great score and CONGRATULATIONS! How exciting. I've heard the same as softspot, it's usually ok to continue with what you've been doing pre-pregnancy and listen to your body.
I got 202 last night. Like others, I stepped down for my box jumps after the 1st round. I think it saved time because i was able to keep a quick pace and not stop for a break like I would have needed if I just did straight jumping the whole time. We are doing Murphy with another box tomorrow so I'm not sure if I'll take a 2nd shot at it or not I may not be able to move much on Sunday after that workout.
I am pregnant and was trying to keep my heart rate down so I only did 155 reps. Rugby wife, this is my second time cfing while pregnant, I am going to pm you some info.

Lol! I worked my ass off and got 151. For some reason I never thought to do step ups! I would have done so much better if I did! The weights were easy for me but the box jumps kill me, I have super weak lungs, just found out I have had asthma my whole life and finally got an inhaler on Monday.
I agree about Annie. I also didn't feel like she opened her hips at the top of the box several times, though she was no repped for a couple of those. Still. I thought it was annoying.
I am doing the workout tomorrow morning. My goal is 200. I can't decide, but I think I'm going to do step ups from the beginning. Our box has never allowed rebounding box jumps, so it just seems smarter on my lungs to step up and down since I'd be stepping down anyway. We'll see how it goes.
My goal was 240. I got 210. I'm a little disappointed, but I'm not registered for the open so it's really not a big deal. I used the deadlifts as my recovery because that was the easiest part for me and now I realize I should have done them a lot faster. A lot of people timed step ups and box jumps ahead of time and determined that step ups were faster because they didn't exhaust themselves early.

I'm not even going to share my score. It's way lower than anything anyone else posted, I'll just say that. The day I can press 75# with greater ease than I did on Sat will be a fantastic one for me!
HOWEVER, I'm so glad I'm doing the Open even as a newbie. It's made me frickin' love CF. People are so supportive and so helpful and so motivating. I'm begging my H to join now too.
I got 195. I did jumps the first round and then switched to step ups; saved me a lot of time. Oh well...now I know. I am pretty happy with my score, I've only been doing CF since January so I wasn't sure what my score would be.
GracieLouFreebush1 I want my H to join as well but I don't think he will. He is more of a soccer playing/mountain biking kind of guy. I think he'd love it though.
