Good luck with your first half, spunkypenguin and with your PR sessalee!
I am running the New Bedford Half this weekend and not looking forward to it at all. I do not do well running in the cold and it is supposed to be in the 30s :/ I would love a new PR, but at this rate I will be happy finishing.
I'm racing the Shamrock and Roll too- can't wait to see Sessalee!!
I'm hoping for sub 30, but other than that I'm just running and trying to have fun, ditto Sessalee about the triple crown- my main goal is to use these races to see my progress over the summer (also I just got back from vaca and have run outside twice all winter...... Oops. I'm a wimp) ?
Current PR- 30:57 (on a 3.2 mile course) Goal- sub 30
I'm running the RNR DC half tomorrow and really not looking forward to running in the cold rain. Need to think of some way to psych myself up for it. I'm sure I will be bribing myself with all kinds of things tomorrow while I'm running. This will be my 5th half and I really want to PR. I'm planning to stick like glue to the 2:15 pacer and hope for the best. That would be about a 4 minute PR.

Good luck, everyone!
I'm doing a 2.2 Shamrock Run with DH. I had hoped to do the 5 mile, but I've been having problems with my knee and foot lately, so I didn't want to push it. It's only supposed to be about 20* at the start - Brr!!

Good luck! I've promised myself an irish carbomb cupcake :-) I've been obsessed since ebeth mentioned them on #trainingtuesday and have scoped out all the bakeries in va beach lol
I'm racing (aka swimming) the RNR DC Half. I too am dreading the cold rain, but I got a new running jacket that will hopefully put more spunk in my step.
I'll reward myself with a yummy Lamb Pie my H is making for St. Patty's Day and a few sips of his Guiness.
Good luck to all the other racers! Especially those chasing PRs.

I'm also running RNR Saturday. It doesn't sound like it'll be a washout y'all. which is not to say that it will be pleasant. . . at least we aren't cinco who is braving a trail race on Saturday!
I was excited to test out my speed, but the weather is making me stabby. It's currently 31 with freezing rain which is supposed to turn over to snow, so there will be a nicelayer of ice beneath snow. I hope I can actually race vs just try not to fall down tomorrow /rant

also, see this right here RNR DC'ers? it could be much, much worse.
I have the Dash Down Greenville 5k on Saturday. Hoping for a good time (my last training run was on pace to beat my current PR, but it is a crowded race so I know it may not happen. I am actually wearing my shirt this morning, I know a cardinal sin, but it does not have the year on it, so I figured not too bad - I do the race every year. Its a nice, soft burnout shirt - I am working from home today so nobody will really know.
I love this race b/c we get there so early we get a great spot for the parade and then sit around drinking for the rest of the afternoon.
Eeeeeek... my first half is on Sunday! I haven't run in two weeks because I was having ankle/foot pain, but I'm feeling better and ready to tackle those 13 miles. I am nervous and excited and slightly spazzing!
Eh. I'm not braving it Between the logistics (DH is working until 3am) and the weather, and my Achilles killing me this week, I will be celebrating a St. Paddy's Day w/e DNS. I'm taking a running break, and will probably need to suck it up and see a doctor.
Good luck racers! I'm looking forward to all the race reports.

I'm sorry .
I almost paged you this morning to see how you're doing because I haven't really seen you at all this week. Sending you healing wishes.
