I'm normally a poster on other boards, so I hope you don't mind me asking a question here.
I had a beta yesterday at 20 dpo because of some bleeding, and it came back at 954. I know that is within acceptable range, and it's really all about the doubling, but I'm worried it's low. I was over 2,000 at this point with DD.
Would you mind sharing what your betas were? (I go for my next one Monday, and trying not to go crazy until then!)
Well with my first pregnancy it was 150 16 dpo and then 300 18 dpo so I assume it would have been 600 at 20 days. The second one (current pregnancy) was actually at 212 on 20 dpo because of slow rising and even dropping numbers. They started going back up after that.
I did IVF so let's say my first beta was 10dpo (it was really 5 days past 5 day transfer so same difference) and mine was 139. If you applied doubling logic it would have been 4400. But that's with IVF so there was no issue of when the sperm traveled up the tubes, you know? It's not exact science. Try not to stress it so much.

Betabase.info has been down for a while.
With DD, my betas at 21dpo were 5800 (I can't remember the exact number, but it was 58--). Implantation was super early (BFP at 8dpo with a beta of 23 at 9dpo). With this pregnancy, I implanted later (BFP at 10dpo and a beta that day of 8.2) and my last beta was at 17dpo and it was 694.4
The range really is huge though and really depends on when you implanted.

Betabase was my first stop, but it doesn't look like it's around anymore.
Yep, y'all had beta's in the thousands. Makes me nervous. I was expecting mine to come back a lot higher.
I wasn't doing fertility treatments this cycle, so no monitoring. I never even got a positive OPK...tested every day and just a couple tests that looked slightly darker than the other days. So based on those and my ovulation symptoms, I'm guessing I'm 20 DPO. Fingers crossed I'm off on my dates.

I think this is the big thing. You don't know when you Oed therefore even your guess on how many dpo you are could be completely wrong. You weren't temping?
I know it sucks, but all you can do is wait I always hate the wait in between betas. Has the spotting/bleeding stopped?

Don't pay attention to the number. What matters is the doubling.
At 6 weeks and 2 days I was sure I was losing the baby and had a beta done. It was 36,527. I didn't have a second one because this was a fairly high number and an ultrasound a few days later showed everything was fine.
But really numbers range all over the place. I continued to spot and cramp throughout the majority of the first half of my pregnancy until they found a cervical polyp somewhere around 20 or 22 weeks and removed it.
I can't remember the exact numbers but my betas were low. First one at 14 dpo was 160 or so, 2nd one was 300 something 4 days later. They told me it was low (freaking me out) and 4 days later I had another beta that was around 700. That was in November and I am now 21 weeks weeks pregnant. I guess my baby just got off to a slow start!
Good luck! Try not to let the anxiety consume you - I know that's hard to do.
At 13dpo it was 32, at 15dpo it was 110 (doubling time of about 28 hours). I didn't have a 3rd draw. I thought my numbers were low compared to others, but like pp said it's the doubling that matters not the number itself.

Just thought I should update....had my beta today and it was 6,081, so about a 36 hour doubling time.
Only a gestational sac was seen on the ultrasound (~5w2d). I go back for another one next Monday. I was hoping to see more, but I realize it's early. They didn't seem concerned yet. Trying to stay cautiously optimistic.

Congrats on the good number!
Your u/s sounds perfect. With my daughter, at 5w4d all we saw was a gestational sac and a tiny tiny yolk sac. At 6 weeks, there was a heartbeat.

Hi! don't know if you will see this, but just curious, I am searching for "betas" and am reading this thread. How do you know you implanted early in you first pg and then late in the next? Just curious. I think I may be a late implantor actually. I have a history of chemicals. And even with my son, who is 7, I remember getting a peak on my fertility monitor on day 10, but it was a whole two weeks for me to get a positive pg test. I wonder if this is my issue sometimes. But I thought there was no way to really tell when you implant or if this is a problem? thanks for any info!!!

Hey! Proboards sends notifications when you quote someone so the person you quote will know
Basically super early betas can show somewhat of an idea when you implant just based on what they are at a certain point super early one (or at least some doctors believe that). Like I have friends that have had betas in the 20s at 14dpo (and they know exactly when they Oed with a confirmed temp rise). Its very unlikely that they implanted at say 7dpo when their beta was only 20 at 14dpo if they went on to have a successful pregnancy.
In reference to your chemical pregnancies, have you had your progesterone levels tested after you ovulate or id you have had betas done, along with the betas? How long are your luteal phases normally? I had two early miscarriages before my first DD and then we figured out I had a progesterone issue. When TTC DD2, we figured out I had LPD (luteal phase defect). I used progesterone suppositories both pregnancies until 2nd tri.

thanks so much for getting back to me!! Yeh, i did have p tested by my fert doc and I was normal. All my tests always came back normal. For my chemicals, p was low when tested, but from what I remember you can never tell if low p causes the m/c or the other way around...i remember the nurse or doctor saying something like that to me. But I belive i was on P supps for some of my IUIs (I did 6). I should get it retested again though. We aren't seeing any fert doctor right now. I got this surprise positive the other day and my regular OB is testing my beta. Thanks again for the info!!
I was SO confused reading this thread. I saw all these tickers of women who I hadn't ever seen around here who had bitty babies and were already pregnant again.
DUH. Old thread. LOL.
I'd be in some deep trouble if I were posting about new betas again
